Black and blue fingers anyone?

When I open a car door, the refrigerator, taking the lids or tops off cans for example, I will get a severe crap like pain in my fingers. The pain is hard to explain, but it's pretty bad. The fingers involved with immediately swell and then turn black and blue. Some other examples are: If I forget and scrub a pan or even a spot on a carpet, it will happen. Sometimes I even hear what sounds like a snap. I don't know what's causing this and am curious if anyone else suffers from this. Most times it's the second&third digits along with my thumb and more often than not it's my dominant hand. Weird. My wrists are weak as well as my ankles and they have been for quite some time. My hands do not get cold, I'm usually hot all the time. Even when my thyroid is within normal limits, I still stay hot. I do have foot drop and my left foot so I do trip allot and unfortunately I drop things far to frequently.

Hi Sissy,

Wow, you do have a lot going on.

I know what you mean about a severe cramp in the fingers and then they turn blue/black but not to the degree that you're suffering from.  With me, it's like a vein has popped open and then healed it's self back up (get black and blue along with a lot of pain, but no swelling).  Have you spoken to your primary about this yet?

Forgive me but I can't remember if you've seen neuro about your foot drop and dropping things yet?  If you have, what did he say?

Take care of yourself my friend -

Mine are doing the same thing...it was cold out the other morning and i grabbed something outside..my finger was bothering me and i looked down
and it was blue in the middle..Im guessing its part of the raynauds thing. This has happend to me before, but more now since im in a huge flare. I takes
around 2 days and then it disappears.....guess its a blood flow restriction problem?

Hi Sissy
I have the same problem with black and blues fingers, hands, arms, legs, stomach, back etc.  I am just so colorful.
I have foot drop also, my right foot, but I wear a leg brace so I don't trip and fall as much as i used to.  I am just wondering if you have RA also?  You are the first person I saw who posted they have foot drop other then me.

I get the popped blood vessel type of thing and it turns blue and hurts like heck.  Doesn't happen real often.  I think a lot of people get that on occasion.
