I've not taken it for auto-immune stuff as I posted elsewhere. I had it administered for an ectopic so my cycles were fouled up anyway :(  Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi I don't post alot but I read daily  :) I have been on mtx since Jan 2010 and my cycles have been messed up. I have also read it can mess your cycles up but I thought it decreased them. I have been off and on a period since august it's like 7 days on then 10 days off. I went to the gyn and he said the mtx wasn't the reason, so now I am doing some testing. I know I really didn't answer your question, just sharing my story. Good luck

Sorry Lori - missed this.  I asked my GP if MTX could be messing up my (till now) very regular periods.  They had become unpredictable for the first time since I was about 14.  He said he had not heard of this as a side effect and it was more likely to be my age.

I stopped MTX after 5 months, in July and my periods are back to regular again.    I don't think there is a definitive list of all the side effects for every med, but I do think that we know our own bodies.  It stands to reason that something which can interfere on  cellular level with the body's workings could have an impact on reproductive cycle.  A friend of mine was unlucky enough to have an eptopic pregnancy and had MTX injections to end the pregnancy whilst leaving her tubes intact.

Hope the MTX will soon be having some positive effects Lori and will be worth putting up with the side effects.  Thinking of you XX Ailsa
