hello,

Well, i had a pretty decent week with my dry eyes.. They actually felt moist and I thought
maybe the 200mg of Plaquenil was working (although I am aware it probably will take at
least 3-6 months before I notice anything)..  Yesterday I started to get more irritated eyes
and dry and today.. ughhhh.so dry again..

anyone else on here experience a week or 2 of 'moist ' eyes and then get super dry again
out of nowhere?  is this simply the nature of the beast (disease)????  thanks to everyone
who responds...this site has helped me so much...

When my eyes went dry, that is the way they stayed.  I take 400 mg. of Planquenil and have the punctal plugs and was just put on Restasis and a maintenance dose of Lotomax daily.  My tears do not even stay on my eyes for one second.  I also use the gel drops at night to help.

I hope things get better for you.

Hi:
Be aware that the fall allergy season is here.  Allergy makes dry eye symptoms worse.

I have been increasing my TheraLife Eye- Autoimmune dosage to counter act it.  Seems to work without resorting to eye drops.  Later on when the pollen dies down I can reduce dosage again.

season

I suffer from dry eye continuously. I get so frustrated because it is so painful and eye drops are expensive when you have to use them constantly.

I tried Restasis and it doesn't work for me. All I can say for sure, I really battle dry eyes.

valene2009

What is TheraLife Eye- Autoimmune ?  I have never heard of it.. If you don't mind me asking..how long have you taken and how much
does it really help with dry eyes?? thanks!!

I have been having extremely dry eyes for the past two months. Not really amsuing!I make sure to use my eye drops frequently though.

I suppose that must be frustrating that you have a "good week" and then back to square one!
Unfortunately, I'm in the group that when my eyes went dry, they have stayed dry. I've had good results with Restasis (meaning it feels great, no burning) and my corneas are healing, but still I have lots of redness and irritation.

Maybe I'm better off knowing mine are dry, plain and simple, than to go on the roller coaster you are on, but I do hope you get some relief that stays for you!  ;)

Take care,
Melinda

Val:

You don't have your dx or meds listed, so I don't know if you're on Restasis.  I've been taking it for 7 years.  I had NO tears when I started and just about lost the vision in my left eye and was close in my right from corneal abrasions.  I credit Restasis for giving me my sight back.  It took about 2 months before my vision was back to normal, well, my normal, which is really bad. (-11.75L & -10.5R)

I also now use Systane Ultra several times a day along with Omega 3-6-9.  I took about 3 months on generic Plaquenil, but it has had a positive effect as well.  Of course, if I overdo the computer, reading going out in the wind, or high allergy season, I have some lousy days.  But I can live with that, compared to before the meds.

Hope you find relief soon.

Hugs,

LeoLady
