Hello
I have Sjogrens and have problems with my eyes. I have all four tear ducks Cauterized and my eyes water alot. Well today I was in the car with my daughters and all of a sudden I got a spider web of floaters in my left eye. Now I do have some floaters but this was alot. It did not hurt, But was in my vision all the time I thought how weird.I had no accident or anything like that it just came out of no where. I went home Well than I did the dish's etc and than will I was reading and it was a brother having these floaters so  I called My mom and told her about it. and she said to call the Dr. Now its Saturday after noon about 2.00 and I hated to call the Dr. But I did. and he opened the office and had me come in Thank goodness I did the floaters were blood and I had two tears in my Retinal. So he did laser on my eye boy did it hurt. so now I have to go back next week and see if it is OK or torn more. I hope it will be OK. I don't know the cause of this does it have anything to do with Sjogrens? If any one has any comments I would love to hear them
Thank you Theresa

Hi Theresa  :)

This sounds like something that happened to a friend of mine - and my suister and was a partial retinal detachment. Neither of them have Sjogren's. Apparently its not uncommon when one gets older but my sister was not quite 50 when it happened to her.

I hope the pain goes soon.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Wow...that sounds pretty scary!

Thank goodness you did call the doctor and got right in there to see him. I hope you heal soon and this takes care of the problem with no more tears.

I think a retinal tear is very serious and requires immediate care.  I'm glad you went to the eye doc right away.  This might be a reminder to those of us who get one of these buggers to not ignore it.  Lucy

beside a heavy new set of floaters..... also call the eye doctor if you see what i can best explain what seem like flashes of lightning in the eye.   It can be an indicator of a retinal tear also.
