Can't do the ocean any more.

Dearest members of Team Sjogren's

Well, we are at the beach with all but one of our immediate family (son's wife can't leave the bank until August, so they are all meeting in Costa Rica after this vacation).

The Condo is a marvel.  So nice to be on neutral turf, if you know what i mean.  This is no one's house or kitchen or whatever.

BUT today I discovered that I cannot go into the ocean.  As soon as I'm in the surf, the shifting sand under my feet makes me unstable.

And with PN and deafness, only my eyes help me stabilize and the surf coming and going is just too much for me.

The pool of course is fine, and I LOVE the pool. And there's a nice one here and we spent an hour at the pool in the late afternoon.  And I was able to do my aerobic exercises.

Honestly, I'm sorry I can't go into the ocean easily, but somehow it isn't as hard as I thought it would be to let go of things.

Has anyone else found the ocean surf too complicated for negotiating after a diagnosis of Peripheral Neuropathy?

Kisses

Carolina,no waves for me! Even the sand under my feet with shoes on gave me severe shooting pains in my feet and legs.

Watched hubby from the balcony of our seaside suite as he enjoyed the surf... that was five years ago!! ::)

You're a braver Sjogie than I!!! ;)

We have no plans to go back to the ocean or on longer trips than to get to Duke and Atlanta area to see daughter, SL and family.

Take care of yourself. Nothing like neutral ground.  We had the 4 grandkids here last week for their annual farm outing! :P
