Thanks Scottie for giving us a glimpse into their daily life on a 4-woman rowing challenge.

It would be a challenge to keep positive all the time with all the bad weather and delays the gals have endured so far.  The little song, "High Hopes" keeps coming to mind . . . tell Bev we might have to phone her and sing it to them.   ;D

Give Bev and all the gals our best the next time you get to chat with her.  We're all pulling for them . . . keep their eyes on the finish line.   Bev will probably sleep for a week straight when she gets home!!   :o  Do you or any of her friends have a hot tub??  A good soak for her sore body would be welcome, I'm sure.

Just did my daily check on the gals progress....they've rounded John O'Groats! Fantastic! I know it's not so, but thinking of them coming "down" the east side of the island somehow sounds easier LOL

Bucky the song I though of (if it's even a song) had a line something like "Land's End to John O'Groats, the span o the isles is done"

Loved the comments and pics from your hubby and his sister(in law?), Scottie. The gals, specially Bev, must have loved having a family member nearby cheering them on! I'm sure there'll be a big turnout when they row past Tynemouth! Everyone will want to see the "local girl" and her mates.

Hi  :)

I've been trying in vain to get some publicity for them. I've emailed two local papers, two local TV stations and a local radio station. No interest at all.  :(

I'm not doing it for them but for their chosen charity. I would have thought the more publicity the better, so I don't think much of their press officer!!  He 'blogs' on the website but that's only useful if people know to read it!!

It was great knowing they'd got through the Pentland Firth because it can be treacherous and the family turned out in force which was nice and I hope boosted everyone's morale and not just Bev's. I got a near tearful phone call from her the day before worrying about being late back at work with no time to recover. I suggested she saw her doc and get them to advise a week off to recover from exhaustion!  Today should have cheered her up though.

They are having really bad luck with the weather. There were unseasonal northerly winds as the rowed up the west coast (a real battle) and it looks as though they could hit southerlies on the way down. More rowing into the wind. They could sooo do with northerlies now!

They went with food for 40 days and this is day 29 so they are going to be pushing it. Bev is ready to get home and doesn't want to see another boat for a while!  I bet they'll be elated if they do get back to London though. My work will let me off to go see them - so that's good.

Thanks for the support!   :)

Take care - Scottie  :)
