My husband has had eye discomfort, mild fatigue, neck pain, low back pain, mild GI upset for long time, and recently developed mild hip pain. He has complained a little bit about it but neither of us has taken it seriously (we thought it was due to his working on computer all day, though he does daily exercises). He visited eye doctor last week to check his eye discomfort. The doc diagnosed as dry eye because of  his low tear production, and ordered a list of tests related to AI?I have medical background and immediately related his symptom to sjogren syndrome when he asked me the meaning of his test. ?his mother and sister had thyroid disease, he once had mild leukopenia (<4000), his dry eye, fatigue and joint pain?.I never thought he was gonna get this since it is a female predominant dz that normally occurs at older age (he is only 33)?.I did not tell him what he might get, but behind of him I was so terrified and had cried a lot in the last couple of days. I studied two textbooks, did PUBMED research, read all of the information I can get, yet still could not get over the fear ?until I came to this forum...I feel much easier now. We are still waiting for the lab result. Whatever result comes to, I am no longer afraid of.  I will pray every day for we living happily and healthy, and for all of you?

Hi loveafp,

Welcome to Sjogrens World!

I hope your husband does not have sjogrens or any other type of autoimmune issues to deal with...but if he does he is lucky to have you in his corner...thank you for being on his side no matter what!

As the others have said....sjogrens is usually thought of as something that older women get...but we do have men here and we do have younger people here including some children unfortunately.

I hope his tests come back soon and I hope he gets some answers! Keep coming back here to get the answers you need as well...it's so good to know the posts here have helped you already!

Hi Loveafp,

Let me also welcome you to the SJS World!  Please look around the board as there are tons of topics that you and your husband just might find to be interesting.  And like the others have mentioned, this is a very friendly board and there are members from 4 years old (the parent in this case) to people in their 70's and older.

I understand that you're scared, and not knowing what your husband has can be very nerve racking, but you'll get through it, honest.

Again, welcome, and don't forget to keep us updated, okay?

Take care of yourselves -

Patze
