Hi Sjogies,

We're here, and more than half is unpacked!  We're talking major stuff like sofa beds and washer and dryer.   My husband and son are unpacking superheroes.

I did too much yesterday (and yet so little) and my five week old post surgery knee swelled up and of course generally I was a basket case by noon.  But I soldiered on.  So much for the advice I GIVE about taking it easy.  It is so EASY to SAY, take it easy, and so hard to do.

I wonder if Sjogren's tends to afflict the most hard working, duty conscious, active people?  I'll bet it does!    Not a causation thing, just a correlation thing.   I haven't heard one person say, well I just love to lie back and let everyone else do the work, or let the work pile up, 'who cares'?    Nope, we all want to be in the midst of everything, pulling our own weight and making stuff happen.  Sigh.

So ice last night and ice this morning.  I'm sure my knee is fine, just complaining about the overuse.

Already we have a cloudy day, which is a major change from El Paso, where the sun shines all the time.   However, a few clouds are OK.

We spent the first night with the grandchildren at their house, but last night the bed was set up and we slept in our own bed in our own new apartment, which is really marvelous.

Still waiting to see how Navydad survives the trip home.   And what if anything was found, and perhaps can be addressed.

We do have a home phone, but I think we're in another dead zone for cells, which is going to make it hard to set up our new phones!    I guess we'll have to go somewhere else to get them set up.

Now I'm rambling.   Just glad to be here, getting settled, and thinking about new doctors.

Welcome to the East Coast!  It is a big difference from Texas to be sure. :D

And I'm glad to see that you're icing your knee though, and I hope that you can take it easy soon!

Take care of yourself -

You know, its funny you say that about the correlation to "hard working, duty conscious, active people", since I always thought of myself as the total opposite...always finding the easiest, laziest way to get things done, not overly concerned if the beds got made. laundry done or the floors got mopped the days I went to work, or was volunteering at the school or working in the community; just as far from a Type A personality as I could be (ofter referred to myself as Type ZZZZZZZ in fact).

I've had more people I used to work with comment about how I seemed to get more done than others without ever seeming to work! At the end of the day, all the little chores had been accomplished without my feeling like I'd done anything, and I never really felt stressed about not finishing things, because somehow they did get finished (except crafts, my favourite craft seems to be "starting" , is anyone into "finishing"?). I even heard comments about how I never seemed to even get excited in emergency situations, one friend loves to tell the story about how she worked in the room next to mine one day and never knew I had a "Code Blue", because it was handleled so quietly...only because I preferred to save my energies for the task at hand, and getting excited used up too much energy!

The beds and the mopping? My first day off every "set" I went through the house "finishing up" and "tidying", and it all got done! Second day, I enjoyed myself in the kitchen, preparing and freezing meals for the next week, baking for sales, or decorating cakes for parties. I wasn't working, I was having fun! Laundry...thats what automatic washers and dryers are for!

You'll get used to the "east coast way". At least in the Canadian East, we're know for our laid back a

WELCOME, CAROLINA  AND HUBBY, TO THE EAST COAST....       :)      :)

Glad to hear you're safe and sound in your new place!!!  Take care of that knee...You know, when it swells, it's telling you something!!! ;)

Was at Duke last week...saw rheumy, endo, and corneal specialist/surgeon.           Oops, be back in minute...time to take Cymbalta.  ::)

We were beside one of the big moving vans in Durham vicinity at a traffic light and I looked over at hubby and said, "I bet that's Carolina's 'stuff!'.....  " Who's Carolina?" .....To which I replied, "One of my sjogie friends on the website." He looked over soooo sweetly  and smiled as if you were my best friend just down the road from us at home!!!!

ALL THE FOLKS HERE ARE TRULY KEEPERS...YOU MAKE MANY SPECIAL DAYS FOR ME...HERE, I FEEL AT HOME! LOVE, JOY  :-*

Hi Carolina

Hope you are enjoying some of our Carolina sunshine by now.  We seem to have rain in spurts.  We  have more trouble with droughts.

Hope your knee is a little better by now.  I can't imagine how you are coping.  It is so stressful to make such a move when one is healthy, let alone with multiple  medical problems.

Hope you have found a good doctor by now.

Warm thoughts.

Joyce
