The docs all shove the latest kind of drops.  The salesmen stop and give them plenty of samples.  People love free stuff, don't we?  I remember my eye butcher gave me a new kind of drop and it started with an S........and I didn't like it.

Actually, while polypropylene is found in antifreeze as a preservative, ethylene glycol is the antifreeze agent that is hazardous and the one that causes death, kidney failure or blindness when ingested.

This is an excerpt from
Quotehttp://www.health-report.co.uk/ethylene_glycol_propylene_glycol.html

QuoteThe EPA has set a drinking water guideline for ethylene glycol of 7,000 micrograms (7,000 ?g/L) in a litre of water for an adult.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified propylene glycol as ?generally recognized as "safe",? which means that it is acceptable for use in flavourings, drugs, and cosmetics, and as a direct food additive.

The "glycol" that is found in drugs, etc sounds to me like it is aderivative of gycerine. Glycerine has a oily consistency and that is probably what helps treat the eyes.

Just be aware that every chemical on earth is poisonous if you use it inappropriately. I took a class put on by the U of Michigan years ago and they talked about all the safe/dangerous additives or products. The thing that stands out in my mind is that peach pits are loaded with arsenic. Goes to show you that food is made up of many different things. Irish ;D

Remember the Cornhuskers Lotion that was made years ago. The farmers just loved it. This had a lot of glycerine in it and your hands would get slippery slimy. We didn't have all the lotions back then so this one was a really big seller for a long time. Irish ;D
