Hi I have never really had a problem with a dry mouth or eyes just dry lips at times.  Recently I have noticed dryness in my throat as if it is sticking together and have to swallow and take a drink to clear it is this associated with SJS I am not too sure has anyone else had this.

Yep-classic Sjogren's. Although mouth dryness is a major complaint for me, I have only had recently experienced my tongue sticking to the roof of my mouth while sleeping, which is very bothersome.  I have had throat dryness that changes my voice if I don't moisten my mouth regularly.

 Janette,
Do you take anything at night for the dryness,
such as coating the tongue with Oralbalance Mouth gel, then swallow a little of it .
This helped me for quite some years, but unfortuately is not working so good for me now.
I am unable to eat any food without a drink,
I have sucked sugar free pastilles , mints etc' throughout the day to keep my mouth from seizing up!
Hope you find relief soon  Dolly
                                   .

Hi Janette and welcome!

Oh yes.....my throat feels the same way at times...I try to take small sips of cold water and slowly swallow it to moisten my throat. Sometimes I even hold it in my mouth and put my head back to let a few drops run down my throat...just a small amount of cold water.

I definitely understand what you mean though about the feeling of the throat sticking together...its kind of a scary feeling for me.

Hi,
This is exactly what I was talking about on the thread I started yesterday. It's interesting that Bonus Mom calls this symptom "Classic Sjogren's."  It's, I think, the first symptom of dryness I've ever had and goes back years.
Dolly, don't give up. I have found this symptom ebbs and flows.  I had it two nights ago, but not last night. Go figure!
Also, I will have it for a long period and then not have it for a long period.
I used to think it was related to eating too much at bedtime or something like that. Now, I don't think so.
I've got an appointment in a couple weeks with Ear, Nose, Throat doctor and I'm going to ask a lot of questions.
I'll report back if I learn anything to help with this.
