Good morning . . . . .

Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about vintage costume jewelry?  I have quite a few pieces that belonged to a family friend's wife (who was in her 90's when she passed away), my grandmother, my mother, friends of my mother's, etc.  I have a few pieces (clip earrings, broaches and bracelets) that some of the stones have fallen out.  I have the stones, just need to know what I use to put them back in.  I'm guessing something other than Elmer's Glue!!   :o  I didn't know if there is a special jewelry glue that is used or what.  Any suggestions??

I'm getting ready for a garage sale soon and want to put these pieces in my sale.

Thanks,
Bucky  ;D

How about some good ole Super Glue?

My second guess would be some kind of Epoxy type glue.....

Sorry, I'm not that much help...just some guesses off the top of my head...but they are better suggestions than duct tape!  :)

Please never use superglue with rhinestones or other synthetic gems. Superglue clouds the stone, and it dries like glass, so its bond shatters like glass when the bond is disturbed.
Epoxy is your best bet, and there used to be a jewellers glue called E-6000, at least here in Canada. If you have a local craft/hobby shop, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks gals for the suggestions.  I was in a store yesterday and looked at their craft department and found some Jewelry and Metal Glue.  It says it works on metals, stones, glass and beads.  Which sounds like it will work.  Yay.

Thanks again.
