I was wondering if anyone uses Salivart for their dry mouth.  A friend whose father was undergoing radiation treatment used Salivart and she said that was the best thing they could find for his dry mouth.

Hi  :)

Welcome to Sjogren's world.

I haven't heard of Salivart but get prescribed pastilles/lozenges called Salivix which I find helpful. They have malic acid in them.

I hope you find the site useful.

Take care - Scottie  :)

I have never heard of it and I have researched a lot of dry mouth remidies. Do you know where he buys the stuff, or is it provided by a Dr or Dentist? I wouldn't mind trying it myself.

Salivart is an aerosol spray "oral coating", available OTC but not usually on self service, you have to ask the pharmacist for it.

As with all SjS  products , it's a matter of personal preferance, and personally, I didn't care for the taste, I prefer OraBalance gel. I'm also not a huge fan of aerosols, even though this apparently uses nitrogen as a propellant, and is "ozone friendly".
