Calling it quits for today!   ;D  I'm 90% done with the bedroom.  The other 10% is just gonna have to wait until tomorrow.  When I get the bedroom done then it's the bathroom and then run the vacuum & dust the living room and I'm calling it "good enough"!!

Um Miss Lynn . . . . who said I was going to deal with the stuff and not hide it??  You must have missread my post.  Girl, I'm hidding stuff, I'm hiding stuff!!  LOL  Things are stacked on a cardtable in the basement to be dealt with later when I'm not in such a spit fire hurry.   ;D

Got to run, chat starts in 5 minutes!!   :o

Still waiting . . . . Called my niece today and asked if her she knew "anything".  She said they called last night and they were in W. Virginia.  Headed to where ??? nobody knows!!  I think it is safe to "assume" they will not be here today as they are heading South and I'm to the West.  I am continuing working on everything,  but not in such a hurry.   ;D

Well, Buckey,

I just read all about your house cleaning adventures.

I am thinking fall cleaning now and you won't need any spring cleaning.

Company or no company, you will have a clean house.

Sorry I couldn't come and help.

hugs, kimbo

Here it is a week later than my first post asking for helping hands.  Guess what?  My brother and SIL NEVER CAME!!   :'(  I wish they would have come, it would have been nice to visit with them.

I never really "finished" all my cleaning, still have quite a few items left on my "to do" list.  But, I did cross off many of the items listed.  Yay! I'll continue working on my list and then the house will be clean for the upcoming holidays.  You only have to clean house ONCE and it stays that way, right??!!   ::)  I wish!!

We had to have an electrician come to do some work yesterday and I wasn't running around the house like a mad woman picking up as it was presentable "as is".   ;D  Now that's a good feeling!!

This winter I'll have to go down to the basement and start digging thru the items "in hiding" down there and get them sorted.  Sounds like a good cold weather project.

Thanks for all the offers of help.  I'll keep that in mind for the next time.   ;D

Awwwwww...I'm sorry that they didn't come to visit Bucky! Any chance they are still out there and working their way around to your house soon?

On the positive side...like you said...you got MANY things crossed off of your To Do List...and that's great! Good job!

Bucky

Lynn . . . thanks.  No, they are back home now, so no chance of them showing up here.   Having my family live 500 miles away it's usually safe to think that they won't just show up without me knowing about it.  Shoot, I've lived here 17-1/2 yrs., and different family members have only been here "maybe" 10 times total.  Three of those visits was when our son was born.  My hubbies family (he only has one sister and her family) never comes over.  We don't have any other relatives here, so people don't come to our house often.  I panic when they do!!!  LOL  You can come visit me.   ;D

All the talk about housecleaning reminded me of a neighbor years ago who came home from work to discover her house had been broken into. When she called the police, she was told not to touch anything until after the police had a look at the house.

When the cops got there, my neighbor said she could not determine if anything was missing, since she had not moved anything since the break-in. The police took a report, looked around, and as they were leaving said they were really sorry that the burglars had trashed her house so badly.

My neighbor said she was too embarrassed to tell the cops that their house had not been trashed by the burglars - it usually looked like that. But she never did figure out if anything was stolen. Her theory was the burglars tried to find something of value and gave up in disgust. So mess has its advantages as well.

Genko....that was too funny....and I would have done the exact same thing! Lips would have been sealed to the police....those darn burglars messing up peoples houses...how dare they!!

Bucky....yesssss we need to get together.....we are too close in distance to not meet up someday!

Lol Genko! - not that I can talk. I got burgled once. I noticed as soon as I got home but my youngest son, who had come home from school and had been in the house for about half an hour, hadn't noticed a thing!

Take care - Scottie  :)
