I knew that I would get covid eventually but didn't think it would take me this long. The strange thing is that I felt half ill off and on for weeks and maybe months. Couldn't figure out why I was so tired all the time and wanting to sleep.

I took me til about 3 pm every day to perk up and feel better. There were days I could not make it down to my meal that comes with my independent living apartment. So went to Walmart on Tues evening and got more ill while there and felt really bad all night.

I had made an appt on Monday for Wed and doc checked me for covid I did have it. She  put me on the new drug called Paxlobid. You take it for 5 days and it helps the body to not get worse and the med is to keep the symptoms down and keep a person out of the hospital. I had a cough on Tues night and it has gotten worse and coughing up stuff but no shortness of breath. Im going to call doc tomorrow and see if she wants to see me or wants to give me antibiotic.

I have to be quarantined for 10 days and have had to cancel several drs appts plus missed my IVIG today. This has been a crazy year for me as have had so many medical events happen that interfered with my drs appts. Have to admit that in my old age I am getting sick of dealing with all these issues. And life goes on. Take care everyone and stay cool on these hot days that will be around much of the summer. meirish

Had last dose of the Paxlovid today. This new med by Pfizer does help as far as I am concerned. It doesn't cure the covid but it helps keep the covid from getting too bad and sure seems to keep one out of the hospital.

I still felt pretty lousy this past week and had a very bad productive cough. Didn't sleep good and the week just went by with me mainly laying ono the couch and reading some or watching TV. I definitely did feel like I had a very bad flu. If you are offered this drug you might do well to take it. good luck all meirish

Well, I was to doctor today 13 days post covid diagnosis and have sinus infection, bronchitis and severe bladder infection. Low grade fever is all. Kidney function is down quite a bit and creatinine is highest it has been in a couple of years.

I am thinking that the covid itself plus the new drug paxlovid that I was on could have affected my kidneys. I am skipping my IVIG and taking the antibiotic plus drinking fluid and hope to increase my urinary output. Doc took me off the metformin with my decreased kidney function.

Good thing is my hgb is up from 10.9 to 12.4 since the 14th of the month. It is one day at a time that is for sure and trying to have patience and not eat so much. If I don't feel better in a week or so dr. will do chest X-ray to make sure I don't have pneumonia and some other tests. I am glad I can at least get out of my apartment now and go to one meal a day. Take care all. meirish

I'm sorry to hear you've been ill.
I'm still waiting for my turn.  A lot of people around me have had it but no immediate family that's near me.
My children are good about immediately avoiding me if they have even been close to someone ill.
So far, no one in my immediate family has had it either.

I hope you don't feel too badly for too long.
