Title: Be Thankful
Post by: Bucky on August 07, 2009, 02:05:29 PM
Be thankful that you don't already have
everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be
to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
because they give you opportunities for
improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and
character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
because it means you've made an effort.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they will become your blessings.

Hi, I am new to the forum.  That was a great post.  We do get so wrapped up in our illness that we forget all the wonderful things around us.  Thank you Bucky for reminding me to be thankful.

Helen

PS this is my first post and I am thankful there is a spell check!!!

Hello, Helen, welcome to Sjogren's World.

How nice that your first post is on such a positive and uplifting thread! You're right, sometimes when one has a chronic illness, the up-side of life gets pushed to the back burner, and we simply forget to be happy, thankful or positive.

Please, when you feel comfortable, tell us a bit more about yourself. You can get to know a lot of us by reading the posts on so many subjects here, and hopefully you'll learn more about Sjogren's and coping with it.

Hi Helen,

Let me also welcome you to the SJS World!  Please do look around as this is one of the friendliest and caring board that I've ever come across.

And you're so right, if it wasn't for spell checking, I'd be writing in a whole new language! ;) :D

Take care -

A nice reminder post Thanksgiving day.   We (me included) should be thankful EACH day, not just when we celebrate a day set aside for Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for all the members here in Sjogrens World.   ;D

I am thankful that I still have my grandmother who is turning 80 years old.

Today she was so happy to still have all her family together that she cried and I cried too.
