Hello, All,
Is SS a progressive condition or not?
I think I can guess that many of you (like me) will say it is most definitely progressive. My symptoms have grown both more numerous and more noticeable since my dx about 8 yrs ago.
But does anyone know whether there's any science to support either position - like studies, long-term follow-up, and so on?
Just curious.
Thank you,
zoe

Hi :)
Well I don't believe everything I read in Wikipedia. I had a ten year year remission and very welcome it was too. Usually SjS is slowly progressive. Its interminable - not terminal.
It's a very individual disease and therefore totally unpredictable.
Take care - Scottie :)
I would say it's a slow progression. For me at least, the symptoms slowly started and weren't noticeable, but have slowly progressed over the years. Finally, in 2008, the dry eyes and mouth became noticeable. All my tests are negative, so the only treatment I receive is Evoxac. I don't have really bad joint paint, so I take ibuprofen as needed.
