I have recently moved & so have started with a whole new bunch of physicians. My Visual Fields tests have always been very normal (15 years) so had talked my previous Opthamalogist & Rheumatoligist down to very 9 months. Haven't worked that out here, as yet. Any suggestions?
Welcome MaryJane, ;D
I think it is at least every 6 months for the first few years of being on it. I'm not sure but my Ophthalmologist said that I only need to check every year now. I think its because I've had the same results for the past 3 years. I would say though 6 months would probably be your best bet especially since you have a new doctor.
Mine are scheduled for every 6 months too. I personally find them boring, but I know they are necessary to keep track of any damage to the retina. Although it's a very rare thing, I will still go through with mine.
In fact I have my next one in 2 weeks, if the vertigo is gone by then. :-\

I also had my visual fields and check ups scheduled for every 6 months...but just recently graduated to yearly with my visits and tests. I know I can always call my docotr if there is a specific problem though.
I have one scheduled for July and I've been on plaquenil for two years. Lucy
I've been on Plaquenil for four years now, and I have the Visual Fields done every year.
