Title: Dry Joints
Post by: tired in texas on June 23, 2009, 06:33:49 PM
Well,  I am having knee surgery #8 this Thursday.  The cartilage in my knees keeps drying and tearing...has done this so much the kneecap now tracks in a crooked fashion.  I am having the kneecap realigned.

Some docs think this is sjogren's related...have been told that when they light move a probe across the cartilage during surgery is will flake very finely....like dry skin in the winter months.

Does anyone else have this?  Anything that helps?

Thanks!

I don't have this problem but it sounds really painful.  I'm sorry, good luck with surgery.  Keeping you in my thoughts!

(btw... I'm tired in Texas also :) )

I am just now able to get to the computer.  The surgery way tough.  The doc did  6 procedures to get all the issues with the knee corrected and hopefully things will be in good order for a long time.  He had to break my tibia to get the knee cap to realign and track correctly...it has been long, long days.  Oh, and I had to come straight home after surgery.  Thankfully I have an awesome orthopedic that calls  you every night the first 4-5 nights to make sure pain management is working.

I had an emergency run to the ER....got choked eating dinner...even after food was up, I would choke on my own saliva....they had to run a scope down the esophagus to pluck out the stuck food.  Also, I have a stricture in the esophagus that needs to be fixed soon and have apt with dr. next week to schedule that.

Any ideas about this?
