Title: anyone having success on Low-Dose Naltrexone? -Janzz?
Post by: driedout10 on June 07, 2009, 11:20:36 AM
HI again, I remember reading posts in January from Janzz (sorry if I spelled that wrong) who was starting LDN. I was off the board for awhile and am now wondering how that drug trial went. As you can tell by my posts, I am desperately searching for some relief from my current situation. Want to go to the doc with some ideas. Thanks so much,
Chun

Hi Chun

Have only just seen this post.  I have been on LDN for 2 months now (I have MS as well as Sjogren's) - it's too soon to tell whether it's slowing down disease progression but so far I feel fabulous (after the side effects died down) - my energy has dramatically improved and I feel a sense of general well being.  When I thought I was getting an MS relapse a couple of weeks ago, it just subsided without any major symptoms - so that's an encouraging sign though not definitive at this stage.   It's quite cheap (?15/month) and seems pretty safe so I'd have thought it's worth a whirl.  If you decide to try it I'd advise you to build the dose up much more slowly than they tell you (eg start at 1ml and build up by 0.1ml per day) - this was the key to minimising side effects for me.
Good luck!
Agatha

Hi DriedOut,

A few months ago I also gave LDN a trial run for Sjogrens only.
It worked miracles for better eye moisture... but was cancelling out this good effect by causing extreme mouth dryness. I took it at the lowest dose, even skipping days in between, but to no avail. I tried it for 5 weeks.
