Title: Dry Mouth People
Post by: jaygee on May 14, 2009, 12:08:15 PM
Hi

Here's me comparing symptoms again  ::)

(It's good to hear from others who know what I mean, so thank you for all your replies on my other threads)

So, do any of you have this?  When my mouth is going through a dry spell, when I wake I get (sorry for this) lots of gloopy strands, especially on the inside of my lips and cheeks, as if skin has come off during the night?  It's quite revolting, and I use tissues to get rid of it.  If this happens I am usually clearing up debris for most of the morning - yuk.

Any of you the same?

You have just given a perfect (and very graphic) description of my mouth.  I use Glandosane at night (some use Biotene) and it has mostly eradicated the stringy mouth, except when I am full of cold or hayfever (now suffering both yey!).

I used to get that all the time!!  I hated it!!  It was before my diagnosis, before I even heard of Sjogrens.  I was obviously always thirsty and drinking water, but was always pulling these gooey strands out of my mouth.  It was embarrassing and gross.

Anyway, once I got the diagnosis and they put me on Evoxac, I was able to get some saliva back.  I also only use Biotene products for dry mouth and use the Biotene Oral Balance gel before I go to bed each night.  I haven't had those strands now for a long time.  Hope you can get some help!
