A good friend of mine left last Thursday to visit her parents out of state. Her father has had health problems and just went through problems with skin cancer and lymph node removal.
I did not want to call and intrude on her time with her parents so on Monday I sent her a text (learned to text from the teens). The text read "Thinking of u hope ur having a great time no need to cal back talk to u when u get back"
I immediately received a text back saying "who is this" I replied with my name not thinking anything of it. Last night she called when she arrived at her first airport for her layover just to chat and I asked her about the text. She said she did not receive the text so we thought her daughter had received the text.
Tonight my friend called me and told me it was her husband that had received the text. He could not understand why I was texting him saying that I was thinking of him when his wife was out of town. She and I both could not stop laughing over the mixup.

Roxanne, that is hilarious. I don't text, and don't know how, won't be learning, but I think this might happen quite often. Come to think of it, lots of secrets could be exposed this way. LOL. Thanks for the laugh. Lucy
Even typing on a keyboard has its pitfalls for me these days with clumsy fingers. We had just got a new resources assistant at school, a lovely lady with a great figure. My first request to her was supposed to show some consideration for her settling in period, but instead I sent "Hi, I know you're busty, but could you copy the attachment for tomorrow?"

Harrigan, I use one finger to text unlike the teens who are lightning fast and could text a novel. I too check everything I type and keep a dictionary next to the computer because spelling just seems to be more difficult. I also double check because especially at night my fingers don't always find the correct keys. Thank you to whoever included spell check on this site. Roxanne

I had someone sending me text messages one time and it was obvious that these two were in some kind of a hot relationship. I ignored the first one or two and then I sent one back saying "I think you have the wrong person".....didn't get anymore! :o

Eviddentially my phone number is close to one that a nearby hospital uses. I usually just tell them they have the wrong number, they apologize and hang up.
I only got to hello once though. The lady started right in all about her husband, every surgey and everything they did for him at the hospital. Finally she had to come up for air and I asked her if she wanted the hospital. There was a looong pregant pause and she said "this isn't the hospital???"! :o When I repeated no, she hung up the phone very very quick. :D
