I had a lip biopsy done last Tuesday at an ENT. I called today to see if they had the results and the nurse said that they came in today but the doctor has not seen them or signed off on them and when he does, she will call me with the results....I hung up the phone and got really nervous. This whole thing has me a wreck! I know it is crazy to act this way but has anyone else felt like this? Thanks for listening.
Oh YES YES YES. I think I can speak for others that have been anxious for their results.
Floridagirl, I have always felt like it is my test and my results and I have paid for them so just give them to me. Don't call and invite me in for an appt to share the news. Don't tell me that the doc will call me back. Don't call me on Friday and tell me you need to see me next week. The stress and anxiety is worse than the test results. Good luck. Hope you get the results soon. Roxanne
Yes I know we had to wait 2 weeks for Jennas blood test results she is 4 and it was the worse 2 weeks of my life. Doctors need to understand that the not knowing is worse then the diagnosis some times. Wish you luck Hugs and Kisses Jonnell and Jenna
YES!!!!! I can relate to the anxiety of waiting for test results....I think its the worst part of it all! I tend to be impatient anyway... but most of my doctors understand that I want to know as soon as possible and also fax me a copy!
jonnell......Your little girl has Sjogrens? Guess this can occur at any age....Did they do a lip biopsy on her? My doctor said to me that he wanted a lip biopsy even if the blood work came back negative. I had an inconclusive SSA blood test and a mildly elevated ANA titer. I do not understand the difference between the SSA and SSB blood work? Does anyone know what it is? The thing that got me to the doctor was the salty taste on my lips that started in December of 08. The dentist said my mouth is dry but it is not the sahara. I wear contact lenses (gas permeable) and can still wear them. My eyes really do not bother me. My mouth is definitely not like cotton mouth. I take blood pressure medications and I think that makes it somewhat dry and I have fibromyalgia and take flexeril and celebrex. Flexeril really dries me out. What meds is she on? I wish you well.....
Florida girl, Jenna did not have a lip biopsy, she had a positive ana, and positive ssa and ssb test. That coupled with her symptoms, no saliva in her mouth, sun sensitivity, muscle aches, heat intolerance, dry eyes, rashes, neutropenia, reactive airway disease, dry sinuses and dry vaginal area they made the dx of sjs. She just started plaquenil today and she is on naproxen for the pain. She is Dupont Hospital for Childrens youngest sjs patient ever. I also believe she has Lupus but havent got that confirmed. She gets the butterfly rash when in the sun. It seems like forever but its only been less than a year that we got a diagnosis. We are hoping this new medicine will help her. They also believe she has Asthma so now we are off to see a Pulmonoligist. It never ends. Hugs and Kisses Jonnell and Jenna
