I don't know about YOUR anxiety, but I didn't get Sjogrens from anxiety whether I have it or not. I don't know if I like your doc's attitude. I think it would be hard to blame your ANA on anxiety. An infection, perhaps. I know thyroid can make you feel nervous if you are hyper-active.
Others will come along who know a lot more than I do on the subject. lucy
Just because your tests are more "normal" than they were before doesn't mean a thing. If you have hashimotos or are positive for the autoimmune thyroid disease you probably have sjogrens and maybe some other autoimmune diseases. Tell your doc that autoimmune travels in a pack and if there is one disease there is bound to be another ---- and you do not need positive blood work. If he is not agreeable and cooperative maybe you need another doc. Irish ;D
I would be willing to bet that every single person who has any type of autoimmune disease has "anxiety". I figure that my body is super reved up and going way over the speed limit trying to kill me off. Maybe that is what causes us all to have anxiety. I always told my docs if they would make me better I would start sleeping at night again.
Hi Jas :)
Your thyroid can cause untold problems and balancing the meds can be a problem too. I was blaming a whole lot of symptoms on SjS recently and it turned out that at least some of them were thyroid trelated because they eased off when my thyroid meds were increased.
There's a really good thyroid forum at About.com which m,ay be worth a look. I used to go there a lot, as well as here - and went back there recently.
Take care - Scottie :)
