Has anyone been to the National Patients Conference in the past? I am thinking of going to the one on April 17th and 18th but I want to make sure it is worth the trip for me. I would have to drive 5 hours and stay at a hotel. My husband would have to take off from work to care for our 5 kids.....I was recently dx in Feb and have been reading everything I can my hands on. Plus this discussion board has been a life saver!! Thank you all for your posts that keep me going everyday and make me feel sane again..... any advice would be appreciated.

I'm going to the conference. It will be a first time for me, so I can't tell you how much I'll learn. But I seem to go round and round with new symptoms and as much as I adore my rheumie (who will be speaking next weekend), I can't seem to get enough information from one visit every 3 months to answer all the questions I have. I'll be staying with my sister-in-law in Maryland and drive about an hour to the conference. I'm most intrested in the segment on chronic pain and autoimmune diseases as I already deal with chronic pain from a back injury and it seems impossible to get both types of pain under control at the same time.
Let me know if you decide to go, maybe we can meet up somewhere.
