After being away this past month, I've come to realize that I can no longer give my best to you and Sjogren's World. As of midnight last night I have turned into just plain Pooh-member of Sjogren's World.
I can no longer give my best to my position as a staff member and I have resigned from Sjogren's World as of yesterday.
This doesn't mean I won't be around now and then to bug you all, it just means that I won't have the responsiblities I did before.
I thank each and every one of you for the caring and friendship you have given me in these past 4 years. I appreciate all your kind thoughts and well wishes. I will never forget any of you and you will be in my heart forever.
As I said, I'll be around now and then to bug you, just not all the time.
Take care and stay positive and don't let this disease get the best of you.
Hugs to all,
Pooh
Pooh

Dearest Pooh
Good for you for making this decision. I know it must have been a difficult one because you've always been there for all of us, above and beyond what anyone could hope or expect. Now is the time to look after yourself, and maybe let us be take care of you?
From the moment I joined SjS World I felt such love and care emanating from you. Your practical suggestions have saved me many an unhappy time, helping me avoid side effects from meds. Let's hear it for yogurt with Plaquenil!
I've been trying to pass on your advice to others and, I hope, a little of the love and thoughtfulness which you showed to me.
With love - Chickpea
ps please keep sharing crockpot recipes, sweet stories and happy times as well as the wonderful advice!
Dear Pooh, you will be missed at staff meetings, but I sincerely hope your wit and wisdom will be continued here as an active, valued and much loved member for a very long time.
It's actually about time you moved yourself and your health up the list of priorities a bit ;) If anyone deserves a chance to rest and enjoy life, you do.
(((((((((((Pooh))))))))))
You will be so missed at staff meetings, on the Boards, and in chat...you have been an inspiration to so many of us! But even though you wont be around all of the time...we will still see you when you are feeling up to it and thats good! I'm glad that you are taking care of yourself...if you need us...you know we will ALWAYS be here for you...and you know exactly where to find us!
Hugs to you my friend......
Dear Pooh
I can only echo what the other lovely people have said. You have been a big blessing to me, and although you need a break now, I'm looking forward to talking to you in your changed role.
God bless.
Kathyx
Pooh, I just joined sjogrens world, but you have helped me and Jenna so much. Ive read a lot of ur posts. Good Luck in all you do. You will be missed.
So glad that you'll still be checking in with your fellow sjoggies, Pooh. When you need to take care of yourself, it's important to eliminate obligations that are weighing us down. I think you're doing the right thing-if it's any consolation. Please take care of yourself and don't be a stranger.
Pooh,
I really understand what you are saying. Being a mod is very hard work and a lot of responsibility and I have total appreciation for those who can do it. I was in the same situation as you not too long ago and had to hang up my mod hat on another board. It's a tough decision but you have to be able to take care of yourself.
I'm really happy to know that you will still be here. I think your contributions, whether as a mod or a member, are so important and you have been wonderful. Many hugs to you and thank you for all that you have done for us!
Oh POOH :)
I remember one night when I could not sleep and I was feeling down......
I began reading the thread where everyone was trading weather news and light bantor. You began an on going tale of your frog in your yard.
By the time I felt relaxed and ready to go back to bed I had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face laughing at you and your frog.
Sweet dreams of poohs yard frog.
No..... I hope you change your mind. You could serve in a capacity that suites your level of health. As we all here have fluctuations of flares.
Sjoggies by charactor of our own issues are adaptable to changes.
Oh POOH you are soooo valued . Your depth of care and compassion is 24kt golden.
Thank you for all your support to many in need of your special sensitivity.
blessing and hugs, kimbo
Thanks for all your hard work here over the last few years. And do check in with us from time to time, so we know you and your family are doing well. Glad you are taking care of yourself.
Genko
Dear, dear Pooh,
When I first came to the boards you were one of the first people to give me reassurance and advice, which I valued more than I can say, but as everyone before me has said, you have to look after yourself and your health. You know in emergency situations the advice is always save yourself first and then you are in a position to save others - well that's pretty good advice for you.
We look forwards to hearing from you whenever you are able to participate on the boards and we will still hang on your every word - you are a legend!
Thank you.
Beverley
Pooh, your gentle wisdom and encouragement have made many a person's worries more manageable. Thankyou for all that you have given and hoping that you are able to join in in a way that suits you better. Your patience and good humour are legendary. Bless you xx Ailsa
Pooh,
Your acceptance and importance here are unchanged. Thank you for your "official" role and all the effort that was involved. We will still count on your input, humor, and friendship!
Cheryl
Wow Pooh - I just read this just now. It's not going to be the same. I certainly hope you do keep being a member. The boards aren't the same when you're away! :'(
You always put so much time and effort in, I'm not surprised you feel the need to step back. You need time to look after yourself and maybe we can all be here for you a bit.
(((((( Pooh ))))))) Scottie :)
(((((((Pooh))))))),
You always had a way of making everyone feel they were never alone with sjogren's. You have a heart that over flows with love for everyone on the boards. Your wisdom and humor are unmatchable.
However, I'm glad you have decided to take more time for yourself. Just don't forget what you have always told all of us, "you are never alone, when you are here". Pop-in as often as you can, your presence will put a smile on everyone's face. ;)
Take Care and God Bless,
Sue
What's best for you is what we want, thanks sooo much for your sound advice and good judgement. Will be waiting to see you post. Sandra
Pooh, as long as you promise to stay around and pop in every now and then, we will have to cope. You are such a good doobie. Don't ask me what a "doobie" is because I'm not sure. They are always good though. I'll be looking for you. Lucy
Pooh,
I have been typing and erasing for about 10 minutes now...it seems there are no words to express my gratitude.
I...I'm completely at a loss for appropriate verbiage. You have meant the world to me. Now I'm all teary eyed.
I just don't know how to thank you for comfort, empathy, information, hilarity, and so much more.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!..... for all your energies spent here for me/us!
Janna
Awww Pooh, I am just going to tell you what I feel sure you would tell everyone else here. If you do not take care of yourself, how can you help anyone else? I am sure we are all going to miss you as a staff member, but hopefully you will still be popping in and joking around with us, so this is not good-bye. We tend to forget sometimes, that people, even those who are chronically ill, have real lives and family members.
So you spend what precious energy you have on your family. Your friends (and you have been such a friend to all of us that you have many here) will always be here for you. Thank you Pooh, for all you have done for all of us! Now rest and take care of you! ;) :-*
Pooh,
We'll miss you so.
Chico
Oh my, words escape me. I am overwhelmed by your words and caring.
I will be around for a long time......................I hope. :) And I will be here when I can be. I wouldn't trade anything for the friends and Sjoggie family I have here.
Thank you all so much for your kind words. The feeling is very much mutual. I don't know how I would have made it this far without the help of all of you.
You the members and the moderators are what keep this forum strong and welcoming. Please keep up the great work.
Hugs and God Bless always,
Pooh
P.S. For those of you that haven't heard..........#9 great grandson arrived safe and sound on March 10th. He and Mom are doing great and big brother Logan is over the moon. I just wish I could get to hold him before he is walking and talking. They live on the other side of the US at Ft. Lewis. (sigh) But she sends me pics a couple times a week.
Wonderful news, Pooh. Does Logan's brother have a name?
Kathyx
Oops, sorry Kathy :D
His name is Keegan Xavier - weighing in at 8 lbs. 2 ozs. and was 21 inches long. Very little hair, but what there is is a reddish blonde and he has blue eyes.
Hugs, Pooh
Those are lovely names Pooh. He sounds like he going to be tall. Was Logan a similar length?
Our Logan is 2 1/2 now and a real joy to have a conversation with. I'm no gardener, but have been sharing the pleasure of planting primulas in a pot for him to keep at home. He loves it. The next thing we are going to try to grow are carrot tops, and we may even move on to musard and cress. I just love having tinies around.
Kathyx
Pooh,
I have to say I am glad you are still going to be around. I know that I haven't been here for a while... but I know that you helped me when I needed the most help. Keep in touch.
Mel
Pooh, I just read your thread now. Missed it last night. I am not shocked as I know you have been dealing with a lot of health issues and I know you are worn out from it all.
However, I know that you have given so much of yourself to me and others. I have to say that your sense of humor is just the greatest and hits the spot when times are tough. You are such a survivor and I don't blame you at all for taking time for yourself and your family. You will enjoy having the time to start something and get it finished---something that we sjoggies often have trouble doing when time interferes.
I always know that if I am up late not able to sleep I can "tune in" to the forum and often find you cruising around. I hope that you enjoy the spring and summer with your flowers, birds and that crazy squirrel that lives at your house. I laughed so over that.
Please keep in touch cause we will miss you if you don't show up. Have a relaxed and restful time with your hubby and family. Go for rides and to the Dairy Queen and watch the stars at night knowing that you don't have to worry about getting on the forum to check the posts. You are one special gal. And congrats on another grandbaby---they are just the best. Hugs Irish ;D
Pooh,
Those decisions about how to use time and still stay sane and healthy are very difficult aren't they? I'm sure you did not come to this choice easily.
Thank you for all the help, support and service that you have given. I'll see you around the boards.
coopwall
grandbaby no 9 wow!! so good to hear both of them are doing fine, i agree those are fabulous names, you must be relived its all over and both are doing great!
T x
(((Pooh))) I don't get to post often, but I have to tell you that your kind and honest support has meant a great deal to me. I so understand your decision to make an adjustment in your role here. There are so many things pulling us in every direction. Balance can be hard to achieve, but I think with the challenges we face it is even more important. I am going to try and follow this example in my life. I'm still learning. I started Plaquenil a week or so ago, and I know I couldn't have tolerated it without your suggestions.
Also, congrats on your new grandson Keegan! I live in Oregon and my two sisters live in Seattle and Tacoma right up there by Ft. Lewis. It would be neat if you could use video cams on your computers. I don't think they are too expensive, but I don't even know how to set one up...lol You could at least see the new grandson in action.
Terri
dear pooh
i just wanted to add my comment to the long list of others. when diagnosed i came across this forum, looking for some reassurance and support which i found. I think you were one of the first to reply to my post and your commonsense advice helped greatly at the time.
hope to see you on here from time to time

Pooh,
I have been out of the loop for a while..imagine my surprise! You will be missed as a moderator but I am glad we will still see you around. Take care dear! You have been a source of strength for so many. Take time time for yourself now!
Thank you for how you have served us so lovingly !
Dearest Pooh......What can I say that others have not yet said..other than to say that I love you and take care. essences, Shari
Dear Pooh, This site was set up and became a great place to come to , because of people like you and dear Chloe in the past, who have had to give in to their health issues which of course is the only sensible thing to do, so I give you my heart felt thanks for all your wisdom and comfort that you so whole heartily have put in to the site.. It's great to know tho' that you will still be looking in and be among us . God bless Pooh, Take care and spoil yourself some!! Love Dolly.x
Dear Pooh,
I've been out-of-town and just got back - trying to catch up with all the latest here at SjS World. I'm so sorry to hear you have resigned from staff. :( Although, I do understand and wish you all the best.
I enjoyed our one-on-one chat sessions. Also enjoyed your humor and kind words on the forum. :)
Every time I cook something in my crock pot - I will think of you! :) LOL
Take care Pooh . . . stop in and visit us in chat and on the forum . . . we miss you.
Hugs,
Bucky
Wonderful, dear Pooh,
What can I say that hasn't been said a dozen times already? That we will miss you? That you're power house of strength that many have had the pleasure of your great pearls of wisdom? And that like the character you're named after, have offered a ton of soft, warm hugs after some of life's challenges because of SJS? You are a bedrock of compassion, a paragon of information, and a great friend to many! ;D Please do visit when you can, and always remember, the laughs, the tears, and the hugs my friend - a smile made a bit easier by you.
I've been so fortunate to get to know you, and to learn from you...thank you so much!
Take care my friend -
Patze
Dear Pooh,
Adding to what others had said:
I noticed that your posts numbered a total of more than 5,500 over a three year period. Taking into account that at any given time, there are at least five or six members online, and I assume double non-members reading the boards (roughly ten or fifteen people).
Just pause, start to consider, and calculate how many people you have helped for all of the reasons that others have mentioned. With compassion, wisdom and selflessness.
It is incalculable. It is outstanding.
I wish you peace, my friend.
Sheila
