Post by: baddabingtim on March 23, 2009, 05:24:01 PM
Funny I searched this site and found no mention of Sialogogue for saliva stimulation - Anyone try any of these herbs and have any
success - example ginger

Hi  :)

I find ginger and lemon tea quite helpful but my mouth is not bone dry as yet.

Take care - Scottie  :)

A sialagogue is simply any compound, substance or drug that stimulates the flow of saliva, and we frequently mention Salagen, Evoxoc, lemon, and other personal choices that do that.

I like lemon water....not only because it helps...but the kids don't like it and they

get grossed out because there is a half a lemon floating in my drink and they wont

drink it. I guess I'm selfish that way...I remember before all this... making myself

something to drink, set it down, come back and it would be all gone. Now they wont

even come near my cup....lol

lol  my son used to do that coz i wouldnt let him have tea and coffee, id make a cup and go do something, id come back and half of it was gone lol , funnily enough they dont steal my water quite so quickly , i wasnt aware lemon could help saliva production , ive been drinking lemon in water for detox reasons, good to know it may have an effect .

There was a post a few weeks back talking of green tea helping, might wants to check back on that thread, looked very good info
