I did my reiki 2 other week and thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
i am now a trained practinioner and i feel that helped my esteem a little and has given me a new outlook and ability to self heal to help my pain and stress.
I am now able to send distance healing to anyone who needs it, i can place them in my healing book list , all i need is a full name and general area to send it, if anyone wishes me to send healing to anyone, please fel free to PM me

Reiki was intended to be used, and i feel directed to use it to help myself and anyone who needs it, its not a kind offer, its what you put into reiki you get back, as i send healing, i too am healed, in whatever was suits my greater good.
I am happy to do it, makes me feel like i am being put to use, which helps me more than anyone in a way

I had a friend at work that was going through chemo due to breast cancer and she swore by her reiki sessions! I have looked into it after she talked so highly of it but am not sure if I understand how it works....can you explain it more to me?

reiki is gaining more and more credability, its being used alot in hospice care, for pain and stress issues.
Reiki mean universal life energy.Its being attuned to that energy and being able to connect with it, its not affiliated with religion , when you tune into it, you feel energy passing into you, thats then used for yourself, or in giving reiki to others. It cannot be used for harm, only for the greater good of those using it.
Its not difficult to learn or be attuned, i found myself a local reiki master who has trained me , i guess the best way i could describe that feeling of reiki flow, is the wonderful feeling love , its very gentle, yet powerful.
I have given my sons reiki, the kids love it, my oldest boy says he felt the stress he had flow out of his hands and feet . Its a truly wonderful thing to be involved in, alot of ppl go to learn to help an ill loved one, or for their own pain.
I calms me down, helps me cope and lessens my pain .Its same energy as tai chi uses , as i do both and its pretty similar, its helped me in so many ways since going to do my reiki 1 in january.

at reki 2 we learn how to send that energy out to others, its siad 15 minutes reiki at a distance, is same as a reiki session in person. Why i have offered to send reiki to others , it costs nothing and can help stress, pain and outlook .
There are no rules to reiki except we are encouraged to each day try to live by its principles
just for today i will not worry
just for today i will not anger
i will be honest in my dealing with ppl
i wil be compassionate to myself and others
i will respect all living things
I know here the hospices now employ reiki practitioners, and the feedback is wonderful , i am considering voluntary work in my local hospice.
What you give to reiki you get back, the more you use it the more you ll get from it, as i reiki someone i myself am calmed and helped

Oddly enough, those are the principles my grandmother taught me as a child, and I'm pretty sure she had never heard of Reiki. I once had a bookmark she made for me, hand written in her wonderful spidery script, that listed them if not in those words in very similar ones. When it fell apart, I copied them to my journal, and start every new journal with them. I'm thinking now that I need to post them again (I used to have them next to my bathroom mirror).
A friend once saw them and her only comment was "you seem to be doing all that but one thing", and when I asked her which I missed, she told me I wasn't very compassionate toward myself! That seems to be the most difficult of the principles for me.

I find it very interesting and am going to look into it and read about it some more.....some people judge things like this before they know how it works and especially because it is not traditional or as well known....but I am one who likes to ask questions and learn about different things.....many times my questioning got me in trouble when I was younger because people can sometimes take that the wrong way! :)

i first had reiki couple of years ago, a friend of mines in england is a reiki practitioner, and she gave me a ssesion, felt like i was floating of the bed when she finnished, felt so relaxed . I know it is questioned, i guess its all down to what ppl beleive, what i know is it works for me, and helps me and my family cope just that bit better,ive offered my mother reiki she wont hear of it, and thats fine . Id encourage anyone to learn more about reiki , being attuned was a wonderful inexplicable expereince, my reiki master said were all connected to it , already , just attunment unkinks the cable so we can get more .
I questioned everything all my life, and yup it got me into trouble with a catholic mother, she still despairs at me being wiccan, i dont know why we beleive were right only for us and our way isnt the only way . I guess what she doesnt understand she fears .
Reiki has given me another focus, another way of helping ppl, which since i fel ill i miss so much there is a void that being a nurse used to fill . Its been a great thing for me, and anyone ive met who practices reiki arent hutty hippies, all lovely varying ppl, my reiki master is 62 yrs old and looks very straight laced, its for everyone from all walks of life, and i dont know anyone shose recieved reiki who didnt think it left them at least for a while feeling like theyd taken a vallium , calm and peaceful, im not saying its cured me it hasnt, and im not saying i dont gte down and worried, but its gave me something to work with and that extra help ive needed, good luck researching reiki , i wish you well in it
