Title: How long for ANA and RF to come back?
Post by: lelole on March 11, 2009, 02:45:20 PM
Hi all,

I had my blood taken for them to do my ANA and Rhematoid factor yesterday, the doc said that these tests can take a long time to come back as they are specialised - but not sure how long?  I know most of you will have had these tests before - any idea how long I might be waiting??

Thanks

It may be that your local hospital doesn't have a lab that does these tests, but in a center that does, the results are usually available within 48 hours. Possibly your doctor has to send the tests away, and wait for the results to be returned by snail mail.

They must be sending them out like Linda said...my lab(at the hosp)had the facilities and mine were back that afternoon.

Hope it goes quickly and you receive the news you are looking for.

OH thank you!  We do have a quite a big lab at our hospital, but the GP took the bloods so maybe that's where the delay lies.  I can cope with the idea of waiting a week or so but any longer and I think I will implode!
