Anyone have issues with gallbladder? I've been having a time with pain and not being able to sleep because of it. So I had been doubling my amitrypltline to break the pain cycle, it worked doing much better in that respect but the amitriptyline really makes the dryness bad. So my GI tract is not working so great in fact it slows right down not much action going on.. One thing that seems to have started up in the past years or so is gallbladder problems, an ultrasound showed "sludge" the last time this happened and I'm waiting to see a surgeron (May) on advice of my rhuemy. Something else I find is my tounge gets all filmy...yuck... mouth tastes bad....and I guess the stomach, nausea and gallbladder is probably causing it but have any of you been there done that.....any suggestions for my sore yucky tongue and nausea? Can one clean the gallbladder or "un-sludge" it?
thanks Sandra
Hi Sandra,
I'm not sure how to answer your questions because Ive not had to deal with any gall bladder issues for myself (knock on wood), but I would definitely ask to get into the doctor sooner than May if this continues. My mom just had her gall bladder out and I know she was full of stones and in a lot of pain...so its best not to let this go on too long if you are hurting.
Let us know how you are....I hope your pain eases up and fast!
I spent a year and a half with gallbladder issues before they removed it. Now I do not seem to have many issues with it.
What is it they say about gallbladders?
Female + forty + fair = full-of-sludge gallbladder?
I've never heard of anything that will clean the sludge. I'm with Lynnie on this. Probably you should see a doc sooner than May.

Yep been there done that too. Had mine removed in '92. Since the gallbladder processes the fat before it gets to the liver, try to stay clear of high fat content foods until you can be evaluated. Especially dairy and processed foods. It will help to reduce attacks and stomach upsets. Good Luck to you.
