I couldnt take the numbness in the l;eft side of my face any longer and went to the ER after calling my GP and being told I would have a week before seeing him,, I explained to the ER doctors that I believe its a infection causing it since my ear hurt like heck also,
I knew it was a waste of time,, they did some bloodwork and did a ct of my sinuses and brain ,, came back and told me everything looked normal (EXCEPT),
The dotcor took me in the back and showed me my chest xray,, theres a 10 CM ball i my left lung, now I had just had a CT scan done of my checst a little over a month ago, and nothing like that showed up,, I did te conversion and its about the size of a baseball
Now there all buring up the phone lines ,, ER doctor calling my GP,, GP wanting copies of the report, I kept telling everyone I was gettig shorter and shorter of breath. now I know why,,
So today nothing has changed,, the left side of the face is still numb around the cheek and eye,, and a new Ball of something in my lung, and coughing up jello like stuff,,
I asked the doctor if it could be fungal,, he said he came from a country that had alot of fungal infections and said it didnt look lie that, the only way to know for sure is to do a bronchoscope or biopsy of it,, Its a circus that never ends,,
Oh my, it seems to never end for you. I am so sorry, this has to be very scary. Did they give you possible scenarios of what it could be. Sure hope you have some answers soon.
Anna

Hi
I hope they are going to move on this really quickly. It's ridiculous the amount of time they are taking to get things moving for you. No wonder breathing's been getting harder! Keep us posted.

Navydad:
I am so sorry to hear about this latest development. Hopefully the "baseball" is self contained and by removing it you will be able to breath more easily.
Is the numbness on the left side of your face possibly Bells' palsy? If so, I have info to share with you that will alleviate it.
Sue
I dont know if its Bells or not,, I;m slurrijng my words to the point I dont even want to talk,, I am assuming the ruled out a stroke,, they did a EKG,, but today is pretty bad,, guess i have to tough it out till they figure out hats wrong, its really starting to P*** me off
navydad, I am sorry that you have to have all this stuff going on. I know that you are frustrated and I certainly know the feeling. It is a good thing you went to ER cause they did all that testing and got the ball rolling. I would bet a plug nickel that you have a fungal infection because you have the primary immune deficiency. It makes you such high risk for infections of all kinds.
There are so many fungus infections possible that chances are the doc has not seen all of them. Are you getting any gamma globulin at this time. It seems like they should have you on some to help your body fight off some of this stuff. Good luck and keep us updated on what is going on. Irish ;D
Navydad,
After reading some of your posts, My symptoms are alot like yours. I have the numbess/tingling all over my entire body..head, mouth, face-sinuses, hands stomach, legs etc..
You name it. Ive had sjogrens now for over 30 years now, but all this started around 2 years ago. I have terrible vertigo, mood swings, stomach problems, joint pain-neuro pain,
some low grade fevers....feels like someone injected me with poision. I cant function at all. I feel like i have some raging infection in my body. Ive had every test imaginable.
Nothing really showing up, other than the sjogrens/lupus. The only thing that got worse at the same time I fell ill, my yeast seemed out of control, and still is. I get it in my esophagus as well as the rest of my body. Im really wondering if this is your mass in your chest since it showed up rather quickly? Uhmmmm??? Ive done alot of research on yeast and if its super bad, can be causing alot of these symptoms. None of these doctors seem to take it seriously, especially those of us with immune disorders.
Good luck and let us know how it goes..

Sorry to hear you have to go through all of this with no real ans; i hope the thing with your lungs does not turn out to be anything serious. Don't know how you feel about prayer, but i will be praying for you.
Collie
Navydad,
I certainly hope you get some answers and relief. Do the docs have a game plan regarding the findings in your lung? I hope they figure it out, and soon.
I will be sending positive thoughts for improved health your way.
