I went to the doctor yesterday and he said my arm has healed quite well and I can go back to work on Wednesday. It's been a long 12 weeks. I 'm ready to go back to work but I have enjoyed the time home with Chele and our grand daughter that she watches during the day.
My arm still hurts and I still have to go to physical therapy twice a week for the next 4 weeks. I work at a church and do all of the maintenance work to keep the building in repair. I'm sure they will cut me some stack while my arm gets stronger. It will be nice to get a real paycheck. Workmans comp only paid 66% of my wages.
Chele was having a flare of some kind these last few weeks. The x-rays and blood test all came back in her favor. She is now feeling better and is not needing to taking the muscle relaxers for now.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts while I have been down for the past 12 weeks. I may not of posted much but I checked out the forum everyday to see how our many friends, old and new, have been doing. This disease causes so much pain and anguish for the person with it and there families. Chele and I will continue to keep all of you in our daily prayers.
God's blessings,
Mark....
Hi Mark,
Glad to see that you're going back to work, I can understand getting itchy while waiting. Good luck with the physical therapy!
I'm also glad that Chele is feeling better and hope that she continues to do well.
Take care and let us know how y'all are doing -
Patze
Hi mark :)
12 weeks is a long timee. I'm glad they'll cut you some slack - you don't want to go hurting yourself more! The physical therapy should help the healing process a long but it can certainly be a slow process.
Sorry to hear Chele ahs been ill again butit sounds as though she's a bit better now so here's hoping that 2009 will pick up for both of you and be a good year.
take care - Scottie :)
That is great news Mark, so happy to hear your arm has healed. Don't go overdoing it work and hurt it all over again. Ah geez, I sound like I'm talking to my hubby. :D I'm sorry but I'd hate to see you down again. Take care.
I'm glad Chelle is feeling better, those flares are so sneaky. One day you feel good, then you wake up the next morning and you feel as though you went through the wringer while sleeping.
The understanding and care our families give us is the best medicene we could ask for. I know it's mine. ;D
Tell Chelle Hi and stay well. I hope and pray 2009 will be a better year for all of us. :)
Hugs, and God Bless,
Pooh
Hi Mark!
Great news that you can go back to work! It does feel good to stay home for a while to recuperate but its always a good feeling to get back into the normal routines of daily life that you are used to doing.
Tell Chele I said Hi and I'm glad that she is doing better......and you hang in there with the PT! I hope it helps you gain your strength back real soon!
Hugs to you both.....
Hello Mark!
Glad to see you sign in and report you're returning to work. I'm sure you're ready and your employer sounds like a wonderful place to be. Take it easy as you've been told. I know it's hard for guys to do this.
I really think our winter has been so "stinky" that most of us feel worse than we need to. I hope some nice days to come will help Chele feel better. As for us, we're headed for Fla on Feb. 13th for a month or so. Getting out of town and not looking back for a few weeks! (Can you tell I'm excited?)
Best to you and Chele, Lucy
Congratulations, Mark! Has it really been twelve weeks? Amazing. Mainly it's good to know you are well enough to start back. Glad to hear you have a supportive congregation and workplace. I'm also happy that Chele's flare is calming down a bit.

Mark, Hiho, Hiho, it's off to work he goes. 8)
So glad that you are getting back to work. I bet you will be pooped the first couple of weeks. I also bet that you will be doing plan B on some of the ways to do your chores in order to save the arm. Like someone said, it doesn't seem like 12 weeks already---to me at least.
Glad that you and Chele are hanging in there. We all need to hang in til this winter leaves. Minnesota has had a lot of days below zero this year. Thank goodness not so much wind. Irish ;D
Thank you everyone for the nice words of encouragement. My arm hurt real bad yesterday after 8 hours of work. Thank God for pain killers. I took one last night to take off the edge. I don't like taking them but it was needed. I had a good first day back. Boy was I tired, that must be why I took a long nap when I got home. We are experiencing frigid weather again and I forgot how cold it gets when you not under a blanket all day!
God's blessings,
Mark....
Hi Mark,
Sounds like you are back into the swing of things. Sorry you had so much pain on your first day back, but I'm sure you expected some.
Oh yes, that warm blankie would seem like heaven after that first day. Good that you had a nice nap when you got home. I'm sure Chelle was looking on and smiling while you slept. I know I would be. I know how I feel when I see my hubby relaxing and not fighting for air. It's make me feel good.
Take care and ease into it, don't go full force right away.
Hugs and God Bless,
Pooh
