Title: Calling all Nurses
Post by: Epson on January 15, 2009, 12:22:31 PM
Can someone tell me what the vesicoureteral junction is and is neoplastic another word for tumor?

I couldnt find anything immediatly backing this, but it looks like the vesicoureteral junction is the path between the bladder and kidneys. Neoplasm is another word for tumor.

Nathan,

Thanks, it's all pretty much what I thought after doing a little research.  It's so nice to know that I have another tumor growing inside me, WTF. :'(

Looks like 2009 is going to be as crappy as 2008 was.

Epson,
I'm sorry to say that Linda is on vacation for the next 2 weeks.  However, she said she would try to check in when she could.

The only thing I could tell you would be what you can find on the web.

Aww Epson I was so hoping this wasn't something else that has been thrown at you.  Hang in there.

Dear Epsom, I do hope things are not so bad as you fear,  please wait until your final diagnosis before worrying yourself. Taking things for gospel from the Internet is a dangerous thing and causes more worry than enough.
Meanwhile I'm sure you will be in all our thoughts and prayers, and pray that 2009 won't be as crappy as you think.
 All the very best. Dolly

Kathyx,

I put in a call into the nurse and emailed the test results.  He just called as I was writing this, could be a new tumor, the old tumor grew back already or scar tissue is blocking the flow of urine from right kidney.

Why am I so lucky?

Epson...frightening news for you  :( I hope they're intenting to schedule surgery ASAP. Please keep onto them about this. I'm so sorry this is happening all over again and I'm hoping that it's just scar tissue this time. What did they say about the cyst on the kidney?

Wow Epson, So sorry to hear about this. Please let us know what the plan is to deal with it. I wish we could all take up some of the burden for you, so you don't have to carry it all yourself.

Lesley,

I don't think anyone at this point is worried about the cyst, that's on the kidney that is working, or the good kidney if you will.  That will be taken care of next.

Darn, that stinks Epson. So, where do you go from here? I sure wish it wasn't anything but if given a choice, hopefully it's scar tissue and they can remove it and figure out a way for it not to form again.

Please keep us updated. I'll be thinking of you and you will remain in my prayers. Still hoping for a better year this year and hoping it gets started SOON.

Take care,
quig

Oh, Epson. I'm so sorry to hear about this.  You must be scared and cross both at the same time.  And a cyst on the 'good' kidney too - I suppose it didn't want to be left out of all the excitement?!

Take care of your dear self and keep posting.  We all want to know how you are - good days and bad days - and we also rely on your pithy comments to keep us from getting too soft and mushy.

Thanks for all the good wishes, I just wish it didn't happen, but they told me there was a good chance of more tumors, so soon?  It might just be scar tissue, the doctors office will call Monday to make an appointment.

That means another cystascope, wee, fun, fun and if I'm real good, another pee bag.  I know I don't have it that bad, but I hate my life right now.

Next, I have to find out what is wrong with my shoulder, I can hardly type or drive, when it rains it pours.  Life is one big smorgasbord of crap sandwiches ;D

Epson, Darn!!!! I hope and pray that it is scar tissue that is causing the issues. This waiting business is also really hard on you I know. There are a lot of new drugs out there to fight the tumors with which is good. The bad thing is that being sick gets really old. Seems like you have had your fair share and then some. Hang in there cause we need you to keep us on our toes!!IRish ;D

Epson, sorry to hear about the latest "crap sandwich" that is on your plate.  You're (we're) from OH . . we're tough old birds -  slap some mayo on that sandwich and add some fritos . . . - hang in there buddy, you've got us all routin for ya!

Seriously, I know the waiting is hard . . try and divert your thoughts to something else for the weekend while you wait until Monday . . . ummm, I was going to say go out and try out your new snow blower, but nah . . it's too cold outside, stay indoors.  I know . . just monitor the boards today and send your wonderful comments out into cyberspace.   ;D

From one buckeye to another . . take care Epson.

Bucky

Life is one big smorgasbord of crap sandwiches

Too funny, Epson!  I used to work for an attorney that suffered from severe halitosis.  I changed firms and someone asked me where I'd worked previously.  When I told him he said "Oh, that's the guy whose breath smells like he eats crap sandwiches for lunch!"  I couldn't help but think of him when I read your post  ;D

It's rather difficult to make lemonade out of crap sandwiches, but know that we're pulling for you!

Epson,
I know the hours until Monday's appt. will pass at a snail's pace, but I'm so glad you don't have to wait any longer than Monday.  Try to keep busy this weekend in an effort to distract yourself. Know that we'll all be supporting you and wishing you nothing but the best.

Lana,

Good idea if it wasn't 2 below outside,  I'm getting cabin fever and so is the dog.  I try to find little projects to keep my mind off of Monday, but now I'm just ambivalent about the whole thing.  I just wish we didn't have out of town guests coming, don't want to put a damper on anything.

Please so keep us updated, okay?

Take care my friend -

Awwww Sh*t, Epson-

I'm so sorry to hear there's more bad news to start your new year.  And this is probably going to be the longest weekend of your life.  I wish there was something I could do to make it go quicker.  I will put in some time with in prayer on your behalf, it's what I do for people I care about.

Hang in there Epson, Tracy
