Title: Appointment on Weds: Finally!
Post by: Chico on January 05, 2009, 03:05:06 PM
Well Weds I go to Johns Hopkins rheumy appt. Has been scheduled a long while. Trying to keep expectations low but know I'm so much more prepared for it thanks to this Group.

We're leaving the MD mountains in a sleet/snow storm tomorrow and will stay near a real Mall.  (We don't have those here.)

Mixed emotions and a lot of anxiety too.

Hi Chico, I hope your appt goes well.  JH is one of the best hospitals in the country.  I hope the jitters can be relieved with a bit of retail therapy... Good Luck !

Good luck Chico! Hope the appointment goes well.

If I were you I would make an actual list of your symptoms and also a list of questions that yopu wopuld like answered. It's so easy to leave an appointment thinking "Duh! I meant to ask such and such!!!!!!!"  Obviously questions arise during the consultation but having some listed can be helpful.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Chico,

I'll keep the digits crossed for you and please keep us updated, okay?

Take care and hang in there!  By the way, please do a bit of window shopping for me too! ;)

Hi Chico,

It's good to hear that your wait is almost over for your rheumy appt. I hope you get some answers to your questions and symptoms and a good treatment plan if needed!

Let us know how it goes....and please be careful driving in that nasty weather!

Great suggestion on writing everything down prior to the appointment!  I had my current med hx, symptoms and meds listed ofr my first appt with the rheumy which alleviated my brain fog issues and the risk of forgetting something important.

Good luck!

Chico,

I'm hoping you haven't already left for your app't.  I wanted to wish you well on your doctors app't.  One thing I have to keep telling myself when I go to the doctor is to "listen" to what he is telling me and not to be thinking of what I want to ask or say before he is finished.  (After reading all the posts, I kinda jump the gun and think, "I know what you're going to tell me" and then find myself not really listening to what he is saying.)  I hope the doctor will give you some answers.

Be careful in your travels.

Bucky
