Decided to put out a few decorations today. Was thinking that staying ahead of events might reduce a stressful time of the year. Only a few, those not firmly packed away.
Noticed first thing the stuffy nose then eyes went crazy. Red with stinging needles. Noticed a bit of glitter on face. Of course, had to shower and change clothes. Eye treatment.
Now have found another thing that has to go. May keep a bit of ceramic and tablecloths etc but can see now most of what I've used before has to go.
Finding total life downsizing getting done quickly. And old habits need to be rethought before I act.

Chico, you are so right about the decorations and also cards. If I open a Greeting Card and find glitter I note the sender and dispose of the card. I don't even take it out of the envelope. It fills me with guilt but the glitter and I don't get along.
I have long ago sorted it out of my decorations. Those that my children made in school or scouts are neatly tucked away in plastic zip lock bags.
Happy Holidays,

Pooh,
Thanks for the warning. You have made me aware that the even cards I've already bought won't do. But thanks to your warning, I'll be very wary opening any.
May have saved me days of agony where I may not have been able to determine the cause. General new rule: Everything may be different now. Proceed with caution in all endeavors, new or old.

Hi Chico,
Something else crossed my mind just a while ago. Hubby just brought our tree down from the attic. Between me with this Sjs mess and him with COPD, asthma and emphasema I was wondering whether to set it up or not. I said something to him about the dust it had gathered over the past couple years and he said he could remedy it.
He put it together, set it in the driveway near the garage and blew off the branches with the air compressor. Now I feel better about bringing it inside. I had thought about setting it on the porch for a while because we always a breeze, to let it blow off on it's own. The air compressor came in handy.

Good idea and very timely since our tree is still in box in front room. Will now go to garage first for a thorough blow down. Since we're having snow, was thinking of putting the more waterproof stuff out for a bit of natural dusting then shaking it dry.
Or... to put it another way, find out what I have that's waterproof. Good sorting out of what I can keep.
