Snow has arrived in just the right amount for a first snowfall! Everything is white and it's quite stunning. That's because I did not have to go anywhere today. We have about 6 inches which is not a big deal in Michigan. I watched some tv meteorologists who predicted more snow than usual and colder than usual for us this winter. We have learned to not believe all that.
This makes it feel like winter. Unfortunately, there have been lots of accidents and slide-offs on the roadways. People just never learn to slow down. If anyone else gets their first snowfall, I hope it's as nice as ours. In a day or so, this will probably melt and be all sloppy. I'd better dig out the boots and winter gear. Lucy
I love looking at snow - but I do hate driving in it. We get very little here nowadays. i remember winter's with a lot more when I wished the baby buggy had a snow plough fitting!
Take care and keep snug! Scottie :)
Ah, lucky. I wish it would snow here. That's what I get for living in the desert (It just hit the high 80s here, ha!)
Maybe one day I'll see the white fluffy stuff again.
Hi Lucy,
It sounds so pretty. (but I still don't miss it). ;D

While I have to admit, snow can be beautiful; esp when it looks like sparkling diamonds when the sun hits freshly fallen snow. However, I am glad I no longer live in the land where the sun does not shine and getting over two feet of snow is not unusual.
Enjoy the snow, and try to remember it wasn't that long ago we were complaining it is too hot.

Hi Lucy,
I love to look at across the horse farm on the other side of our road when it snows. However, when it comes to going out in it, forget it.
At the moment we are having a combination of rain and snow. It's going to be slick going, especially with all the leaves on the road. I hope the rain takes over and the snow is a no show.
Take care and enjoy it while it's white and fluffy and grey, black and sloppy. ewwww!
Hugs, Pooh
Hi Lucy,
I love the first snow...(http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons/emoticon-object-024.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org)..so far we have only had flurries, and nothing that has lasted too long...maybe only sticking to the cars a little bit so I'm still waiting. But living in north central Illinois.....I know my wait will come to an end soon!
It is so bizarre reading all these posts about the cold and snow and i am sitting here in the middle of a spring heatwave. So far we have had days of 35 degrees celcius which for you guys is 95 farenheit.
Enjoy your snow. i am green with envy. I want photos

eyeamdry,
We also got the snow, just not as much as you. We had a young high school girl who was pregnant get in a car accident because of the slick roads. Both her and the unborn baby died. It's so sad. It seems the first snow is always the worst.
We got more last night and with the sunrise it was just beautiful.
God's blessings,
Mark....
Snow is quite a novelty now where I am in the UK, when it does snow and stick the kids just go crazy - must admit I do too!!! It normally only lasts a day or so then disappears. I think there's something so romantic about it - probably wouldn't think that though if we had it for a long time!
Tuesday it is, an early, merry white one in Western MD. Really enjoy winter- lived in hot Texas too many years.
This year, newly diagnosed with Sjogrens, am worried about potential effects of low humidity. All hints will be well taken.
Chico
Chico-first thing is to have a good humidifier running at all times and possibly a second. Most like one for the living area and another for the bedroom. I have an inexpensive "Holmes" model that I love. I don't think the kind matters too much as long as you choose a reliable name. Lucy
