I can't think right now, what topic do I address this under? Thanks! brrrr
Hi Michelle,
You are just fine where you are. I'm freezing too. I think it's this sudden change from the 70's to the 30's and 40's. I even made my husband turn the heat on. We usually try to hold out until after Halloween.
Don't freeze, bundle up and have something warm to drink. I find putting something warm in my body, helps warm up the inside too.
Take care,
Pooh
I,m working on an electric body suite to keep people like us warm, but I keep tripping on this darn cord!
Foflol! Lov it! Wow - I wish I could draw cartoons like the pictures I see in my head!! ;D
Not liking it either Michele !!!! was freezing when I got in from work tonight - I'm a lucky lady though my hubby put my dressing gown in the dryer for me so it was toastie when it came out again - that's what I call utter luxury!
Epson try plugging your finger in the electric socket then you wont need a cord...........
Pud
Pud, I tried that, makes my hair stand on end all day long! :o

Awww :) He sounds like the sweetest! Mine is all hot blooded and loves the cold so... I have to wear extra layers LOL. I'm talking about in the summer he has the a/c down on 60 lol and loves that temp... 60? wth (what the heck, not he double toothpick). Yeah he lives in Alaska for 8 years and loved having the window open at night during the winter. I use a huge comforter next to him using his really thin blanket he got right out of basic training like 16 years ago or so lol!
I bought an electric blanket, for the summer, no joke, so for the winter I wondered about a nice down blanket powered by coal, clean burning coal.
I am pathetic. We have moved to Florida to escape the cold weather of the Western Fingerlakes Region of NY. The summers here have been near the 100 mark everyday. You really cannot go outside for long periods of time. I did however step outside numerous times during the day just to get warm from the airconditioning. We have it turned up tpo 78, but when it reaches 76 in the house, I freeze.
Now, the mornings are in the 50's-60's and I freeze all day long. I went to the market today and had on sweatpants, and a sweatshirt with a hat, and literally got so cold I had to leave the store. My hands freeze continually. I just cannot get warm.
If I can get my hands warm, then my body does warm up.
Yep, pathetic. But, on the positive side, I love Florida. The sun shines 95% of the time, even when it rains in the afternoons. So, no matter how cold I am I am not depressed. Behind every cloud there is a silver lining.
Jimala, no your not pathetic! Your suffering as we all do in our own weird ways with this beast..
I always feel the cold easily, like you if hands are cold everywhere is cold.Have you tried those little blocks called hand warmers, my son takes them with him when fishing.. you put them in your pocket and hold them and they warm a little.. tho' you should always take your gloves with you, nice thick thermal ones.. I freeze if anyone just passes my chair where I am sitting! It feels like an out of body experience .. Funny thing is I sweat and burn up in bed.. Ah-- sweet llfe ain't it? Chin Up Dolly.
Michelle:
I am always cold ( and STILL live in Western NY Finger Lakes) as well. Went through a period recently that I shivered in even mildly cool temps.
I bought a small space heater (Lakewood, about $20.) that I can turn on and stand of front of. It gets my hands a little warmer.
Silk knit layers are comfortable and give lots of warmth. Thermoskin gloves help keep your hands warm (get them online).
Know how you feel...back to my wood stove now.
This electric blanket I just got is working really well :) I just wish it was robe that heated up with batteries LOL!! No it really does work great with 10 temp settings.
I realized I'm probably finally through menopause when the cooler temps in PA hit me like a trip to the freezer. I keep nudging the heat up just a bit, promising myself I'll turn it back down, but so far it just keeps going up.
I look like an absolute bag lady these days - thank goodness I don't go out! I had surgery near my belly a week ago, so I'm walking around trying to keep HUGE pj bottoms up (nice blue flannel plaid or hot pink and green with a satin waste band), a red t-shirt, a green henley and a purple and blue Tigger sweatshirt, all bottomed off with white ankle socks and pink fuzzy slippers. It is NOT pretty! but I'm almost warm.
Like I said, the public should be very, very happy I don't go out.
Stay warm, Tracy
i had on my long sleved PJs my warm booties my fleece robe and was shivering last night. My husband opened up the front door... I was freezing he was burning up. I swore it had to be 30 degrees in here but sure enough he was right 77. But I was shaking even with all my layers. And we havent even had a cold night yet we are in GA. I hate to see what happens when winter hits this year. Im gonna die I just know it!
