Title: just had lip biopsy - and tooth pulled
Post by: baddabingtim on October 17, 2008, 09:49:52 AM
just came back from oral surgeon to get a back tooth pulled - so I mentioned the sjogrens and had him just go ahead and do a lip biopsy - since mt whole mouth and lip were already numb

said results back in a week - so between last weeks blood test (have not seen results yet) and this biopsy - I will hopefully find out my results

since I did not feel anything - guess I got away with an easy lip biopsy...

Glad to hear all went well with the dental work.  I hope you get the results of the lip biopsy quickly.  It seems as though all we do is wait for test results.

Take care,

Pooh

Hey Tim

Nice work with the tooth pull with added lip biopsy thrown in. Two for one deal.

Let us know how you get on. Is the lip sore today?

Lip is bruised and purple - honestly not sore at all - but at this stage in my life I think I am immune to pain - no pain no gain I guess

I will post results next friday - As I have a follow up -

Hi Tim,

Boy, you are a get it done kind of guy, eh? ;):D  Whew, I had enough to do with the biopsy, but to also have a tooth pulled too?  You're good!!!

Please do let us know what the results are.

Take care -

Ah, baddabingtim, I'm so sorry to hear that.  The inconclusive results is a hard one.  That's what my lip biopsy showed too.

I hope that your docs will step up, and still take you seriously.  Aside from my ENT & PCP, the rest of the specialists have pretty much blown me off since.  For awhile, I felt like it took me two steps backwards.  I am currently "taking a break" from the testing, because it is just too exhausting.  I was told, "Maybe in a few years something will pop out in your blood."  I said, "If I feel this bad now, I hate to think how bad I'll feel in two years waiting for something to pop out."

I'm real sorry, Tim.  Hang in there.  We will find answers, but I guess it just takes longer for some of us.  I'll keep positive thoughts coming your way.

Hey Tim,

Sorry to hear that the test was inconclusive. Thats a real bummer. Its so frustrating going through this whole diagnostic process. I hope your general doc will at least start trying to deal with some of your symptoms.

Hang in there buddy

TIM,

I am sorry to hear "inconclusive" more than anything else.  What the heck does it mean?  This is "crazy-making" to say the least!

Well, now the wait for blood tests results can resume/continue with the hope for definitive information.  I'm sorry to say they may not be revealing either.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Tim,

I'm so sorry that you've just joined the "inconclusive" club!!!  Don't you just love that moniker? ::)  My feelings too even though with mine, the doctor said it was negative, but (and that's a big but now :D) there is some infiltration (what the double heck is that?).

Like Janna says, what the heck does that mean anyway?  And why is the US one of the few countries that still do this test?  Wish they would ban the thing, too many people are getting maimed by it (the permanent numb lip - how sad is that?).

Hang in there, okay?

Take care -
