I keep breaking blood vessels in the palms of my hand. After I feel the initial pain, I look down and see a small dark bump. Over the course of the day at work it starts killing me.... To the point I can't touch it at all. By evening the area looks like veirocose veins, raised- purple and very painful... The whole thing is gone in 48 hours like it never happened... I've had 3 in the last month... and I've been getting them for years... but I'm so in-tune to my body lately everything is scaring me...I'm on coumadin for APS (actually having bad time with INR, I'm having blood test M-W-F for weeks now)
Anyone know what I mean ?

My hands have done that sometimes - not usually the palms but the base of the fingers palm side. They did it more often when I used to play hand drums a lot, which I guess is understandable.
Even without hitting anything, one 'goes' now and again but it's certainly not very frequently. I never associated them with anything AI - I just thought they happened sometimes.

My guess is that if your INR is all over the shop then you are probably going to have that happen abit. Especially if it is high. if it keeps going see your doc

If I clap my hands I usually get broken blood vessels. So , I clap gently! I have the cardiolipin antibody IGG AB (<10 is normal and mine is 10) .
Doc says this predisposes me to migranes, but from what I've read, it predisposes me to have a stoke or thrombosis...this doesn't make sense.)
Surgery was Thursday and I have a huge hematoma on my forearm , about 4 in. long and 2 1/2 " wide from removal of the IV.
Hi Tinker, I'm cardiolipin IGG positive too... the APS is all wrapped in together... its a pain.. The thing is I 'never' bruise, I constantly walk into my coffee table etc... not a mark, but my hands seemed to be very sensitive...
You keep an eye on that hematoma... we are all such "china tea cups "aren't we... LOL
Some of the things y'all are talking about sound so familiar! I walk around with bruises mainly on my arms and legs a lot - it's a very strange thing. Now a days, it's probably from the aspirin, but I was a walking bruise factory before I even started using aspirin a few years back; it makes one wonder (no, I don't have APS, I've been tested for it already, but I do have FVL).
I could never play any sport where my hands took any kind of a beating (like volleyball). I would play a game of it and by that night, my hands would be black, blue, swollen (from the tips of my fingers to the wrists and sometimes beyond), and very painful for a couple of weeks after.
I know that since the fat pads have all but disappeared in my hands, I have a lot more breakage/leakage than ever before, with the fingers having it the worst - gee, I'm not even 50 yet!
Oh well, hopefully the doctors will figure out what's up with this sooner than later!
