It's been a while since I posted anything. We are all still trying to recover from Ike.
I just got power back yesterday but thank goodness my family only received minor
damage. I truly feel for those that have suffered such great devastation. I must
say these recent events have thrown me into quite the flare, but things could be
worse that's for sure.
For those that offered such support an update on the kidney front. My biopsy
didn't show any significant damage and they seem to be functioning normally. The
edema has only worsened and I still deal with the back pain. They've now
decided to check me for pulmonary hypertention. WooHoo more tests. Oh well,
at list the sjogren's life is certainly not dull.
My thoughts and love go out to you all. Take care and a wonderfully blessed day
to you all.
Lori
Hello Lori :)
It's good to see you again. I'm so sorry you were in Ike's path but I'm glad the damage has not been too bad. I have seen pictures of what it did to some places and it's devastating indeed.
I'm glad your kidneys don't seem to be impaired. That must be a relief. Do the tests never stop? They don't actually - do they............I mean blood tests become a regular occurrence.
Take care - Scottie :)
Hi Lori,
Nice to see you again! I'm glad to see that your kidneys are working and no damage was done - that's got to be a great relief! I also don't think that the testing ever ends, I guess one can't have everything (we sure can try though)! ;)
Take care and hope to see you around the board -
Patze
Hi Lori,
Glad to hear you came out the other side of Ike with only minimal damage. Im also glad to hear that your kidneys are fine. They're kinda useful little jelly beans.
As for the tests. Well most people can only guarantee two things. Death and taxes. Us Sjoggies have two more. Tests and waiting. Its always there.

lala, Sorry that you had to go through Ike and glad to hear that your electricity is back on. Thankfully it is not really cold yet but the cold weather is coming.
Glad to hear that you kidneys are ok and hope that you don't have pulmonary hypertention. Thankfully there is medication for that now. And yes, with Sjogrens one is always just on the brink of having another problem and test. Take care. Irish ;D
Lala,
That is great news about your kidneys. I am sorry you have to go through more tests. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Lala, so sorry to hear that you had to go through Ike. I am glad your kidneys are ok. We are thankful for one blessing at a time, arent we? I hope your other tests turn out ok. Please let us know. Take care.

Yes, it was very exciting news to find out my kidneys were ok. It was
quite the relief. It's been a rough last couple of months to say the least
but it always works out. That's the thing about autoimmune diseases,
they certainly aren't boring. There is always something new coming up.
I never know what's a normal thing concerning my body any more.
This morning for instance, I had an awful taste in my mouth. It tasted
like blood, but there wasn't any. It was so weird. I'll certainly be glad
when we find out what the edema is being caused by.
Thank you all for your well wishes. You guys and this site mean so much.
It's truly a life saver...
To quote a certain Forest Gump
"life is like a box of chocolates. you never know what you're gunna get"
Or something to that effect. Especially with an AI.
Hope you find out about the oedema

Nicely put Pud!
