Take it from me - just don't.
Louisa
Hi :)
I guess it depends how dry we are because we vary. I like pickled onions!! :)
Take care - Scottie :)
Ooooookay!! Thanks for the warning! I hope all is well now. ;D
Hugs, Pooh
Louisa,
Thanks for the advice! I'll remember not to eat a pickled onion.
Love, Janna
OK.....I'll remember that! :D
Now can you tell us why??? (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/sick007.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org)
Why, because I tried eating one for the first time since I've had my SJS symptoms and I nearly choked - it was ghastly. Mind you, it made my eyes water and that could be seen as a good thing under the circumstances...

I love this forum!! There is a perfect blend from everyone of humor, compassion, understanding, advice, empathy, suggestions...you name it! I am so appreciative to have found you all, and to have been accepted so readily even without a specific SJS diagnosis. If it turns out that I have something else causing these sicca signs & symptoms (amongst other things), I will continue to be a member of this forum because you all are so wonderful.
Lightacandle, I nearly choked from laughing when I read the title and your post! Believe me, I will heed your advice. No pickled onions for me!
Reenie
I love that catch in your throat about to choke water streaming out of your eyes pickled onion experience. I eat them lots in summer with salads. Sadly however, after i have had he catch in your throat about to choke water streaming out of your eyes pickled onion experience i hve the hot burning stomach disintegrating and falling thorugh my bowel experience. That's not a good experience. But it don't stop me. Guess im a dare devil

OK - now you have made me want to run out and buy pickled onions. Guess I'm just a rebel! ;D
Julia
Hi Louisa, I'm with Scottie, I do love them so! Pickled herring is another treat for me too (I know, it's an acquired taste)! ;D
Hi Julia, thanks for reminding me that I need to go to the grocery store tonight!

OMG Pud
You had me in tears lol. New breakthrough with dry eye just befriend Pud and you won't have dry eye again hehe. I love pickled onions & Pickled herring. Hmm brings back memories. My mother in law god rest her soul used to bring pickled herring, Chopped liver and Challah (Jewish bread) when she would visit us. But right at this very moment I have a craving for Candy Corn Yum...
Thanks mudpup,
i do my best............... ;D ;D ;D
This is my 1st. I have never heard of pickeled onion.

Ugh, pickled onions? I had never heard of such a thing! :D
I only like my onions fully cooked. But, I do love sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) and pickles. Had some pickles on my Fuddrucker's burger this past weekend. As close to food heaven as one can get ;)
I've never heard of pickled onion, but it's nothing I would go near anyhow. I've heard of pickled pigs feet. How's that for sounding gross? You guys are so brave. I won't eat anything that I don't know what's mixed up in it. Liver and onions is enough for me to leave home when my hubby cooks it (for himself). The smell in the house is just gross. Lucy
Fuddrucker's Burger? One needs to be creful saying that. One could get ones self into big trouble. Dare i ask what it is?
Liver and onions......yummy. Lucy gues what i am making for dinner. Liver onions bacon and gravy with mashed potato. Good source of iron. Its one of my specialites.

Hi Pud,
Fuddrucker's is a burger type chain here in the states. It has really great burgers, but oh, the calories - it's the usual, great taste and you pay for it, ugh. Oh well, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do (hum, which one do I have for lunch today? :D).
Oh, I do love liver and onions! Your dinner sounds absolutely wonderful!!!!
Take care -
Patze
Yes my liver and bacon and gravy (didnt do the onions) went down a treat. I made sure to have it with a glass of orange juice to absorb all the iron i could. added a bit of spinach on the side too and mash potato. Good healthy tucker. Coated the liver with flour, salt pepper and a bit of seasoning. Too too yummy. Will send you some over in the lear jet with the m&m's Patze.
Now this Fuddrucker's were the owners drunk by some chance when they named the store. MAybe a bad dare? Its a really really unfortunate name. But i suppose you can look past that if the burgers are yummy. I just keep having this image on someones gravestone "Killed by a fuddrucker" what a way to go.

LOL!!!! Fuddruckers is a resturaunt here in Cali. They make what tastes like sirloin burgers. I love their burgers, fries, milkshakes, even their salads rock. :) It's a great place for kids too as they have video games and music from the 50s-70s playing all the time. It's sort of a family resturaunt that has awesome food!
The name does get people tho :)
