Title: Another Exam for SS
Post by: SilberKatze on August 29, 2008, 10:15:24 PM
So August 6th I went in and had an Adult Physical, and now in september 13th, I'm going again(To a farther place) for an Adult Psychological, and Cognitive. What else are they going to do? Hmm...

Also, I had a Rhuemalogist app. August 22nd, and that went well. They did some tests. I have a positive Rhuematiod Factor(79) & sed rate was 70.

Hi Silberkatz  :)

When do you get to see the rheumy again so that he can go through the test results with you? Will that be when they get the physical and cognitive test results in too?

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Silberkatz,

I don't envy you any doing that Cognitive testing.  It took 9 hrs. for the one I had and I was worn out completely when we were done.  Don't care to do that one again.

Please let us know when you get the results and what your rheumy tells you.  Good luck with the further testing.

My next rheumy is Oct. 22nd. That's when I'll get more info on the tests he did, and probably more tests done. He thinks the Rheumatiod Factor could be a false positive test in Sjogren's...He also did a C-Reaction Protien test, which came back normal.

I won't find out anything about the Cognitive test for a bout 2-4 weeks after Social Security gets it in from the doctor.
For some odd reason I always look up the doctor they send me to, so I know a little bit about him. For this guy, I had to go to the meritcare website, look him up by last name. There was no record on the website at all. I goggled him, and yet again no record. I couldn't find the guy...

Meritcare is the health system(clinic, hospital, etc.) here(Perham, MN, and some other citys)

silberkatze, Another Minnesotan!!!! Janna is from MN also. You live more in her neck of the woods. I don't tell my town on this site but I am down in the southern half of the state.

Up where you live it is more complicated for health care as the large towns are farther apart. This is getting interesting on your SSD. Keep us updated. Irish ;D

That's really cool. Maybe she lives close enough to where maybe I could meet her. ^_^

You are right about the health care thing. The closest rheumalogist here for me is in Fargo, ND. And they always make in really early in the morning...what's up with that? Do they always give people who live in farther towns early morning appointments? =P

I understand why you do that. I've always had the city thing. Then again, the sites I used to go to(still do) were family and friends...so it didn't really matter. =)

Yup, I'm up here Katz!  We just gotta meet up someday!

Sounds like I'm a bit East of you because my closest Big City doctor is in Duluth (2 hours away.)

Hi Silberkatz,

Have you gone to the RateMDs.com to look up the doctor?  If he has a license, he will be listed.  There won't be a lot of info from your state, but it will show you some basic info (some states show more than others).  Also, if you go to your state (and someone has rated this doctor), click on the 1st letter of his last name and go down to his name.  I've learned a lot more from the comments of others than from medical establishments.

Oh yeah, I've often told doctors that if the tests are normal, just give me a copy, but don't tell me about it...I've had enough negatives I'm planning on wallpapering something, just haven't figured out what yet...hummmm. ;)

Take care -

Patze

Thanks Patze. My Dr is a sweetie. Never heard of this site before so I just had to leave him some feedback. All 5's of course :)   Still no Rhumey near me. Have to travel all the way to Seattle. 3 hours away :(  To long of a trip for me.
