Two young teen-agers were seriously injured in an ATV accident a few days ago. Both the boy and girl are in their mid-teens and are fighting for their life. With head injuries in both cases, the life-long prognosis is unsure, but it will be a long recovery for both.
I live in a small community that is just about four miles to the next small community. These two you people each came from one of the towns and are from families who have lived in this area for years. Everyone is totally shocked and heartbroken over this tragic accident.
Please keep these two in your prayers as well as their families.
Thank you.
Salsen
That is a ral tragedy. They are definitely on my prayer list. Your communities must be so shocked.
Can I also ask for prayers? An ex colleague gave birth to a baby daughter last night and then passed away. It's a huge shock to everyone. We are waiting to find out exactly what happened. All that we know is that the baby is ok.
Kathyx
Salsen, my prayers are on the way.
Kathy, oh my how tragic. I would be willing to bet it was a blood clot. I lost a neighbor the same way only 3 days after her son was born. She got up to go get him during the night when he cried, and fell to the floor as soon as she stood up. I can imagine the shock of her family and friends. I will keep them in my prayers also.
God bless those in trouble.
Hugs, Pooh
Kathy thank you for your prayers and I too will add your friend to my prayers. How terrible to have such a joyous occasion turn so tragic. Her family will be included in my prayers also. I know it will be a long time to get past this.
Prayers all around. Life is so fragile and precious.
Genko
salsan and kathybarstool, I will remember these families and victims in my prayers also. Two young people and a young mother. We just really need to take one day at a time and do our best, don't we. Irish ;D
I will pray for the teens, the mother, and their families. Hearing such news makes one put things into perspective, doesn't it. How tragic.
Jackie
Salsen and Kathy:
I am praying for them as well.
Sue
Salsen and Kathy,
I have prayed for your friends.
Cheryl
Prayers being offered for grace, mercy, healing and most of all peace.
Both teens are still in the same conditions but the doctors are slightly more optimistic since they have survived the first 72 hours. The young girls pressure in the brain is going down although there is still swelling but there is some hope she will come through this.
Thank all of you for your prayers. I truly believe that they will be healed with so many beseeching on their behalf.
Thanks for the update Salsen, I hope that their youth and physcial stamina will pull them through. I will continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs, Pooh
Salsen & Kathy,
My prayers and thoughts go out to all these young people. With the mercy of God and His healing power may all things improve for these teens and for the family of this little baby.
Please keep us updated,
Sue
I have prayed for all.

Salsen and Kathy,
I am praying and will continue.
Salsen, thank you for update and your faith to encourage prayer. May those young ones continue be lifted up for healing and comfort to all the families.
Kathy, Oh what a loss and the gift of precious life all at once, all together a very difficult time for this family. I pray peace and a presence of comfort and great strength for the family and all their loved ones.
kim
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I will let you know if we find out any more information about the family.
God bless.

Salsen and Kathy,
Prayers going up for all......please keep us updated.
I wanted to say thank you to all for your continued prayers. These young people have had prayers being said for them from all over the world. The young man is recovering well and was released from the hospital yesterday. The young girl is still in very serious condition. The ventilator was removed today and she is breathing on her own. When spoken to she occasionally tries to squeeze her parents hand but as of yet has not come out of the coma. There is still some swelling in the brain but the pressure is good. She also has damage to one eye that may be permanent. She has a very long way to go but each little step is a good sign.
Thank you again. Please keep this young lady in your prayers. It is so upsetting to know she should be starting her freshman year in high school next week. If prayers and wishes from so many can pull her through this accident, she surely will make a great recovery.
Salsen
I'm delighted to hear the prayers are working. It's wonderful that they are both onthe mend, albet at different paces. Their parents must have been on a rollercoaster this last couple of weeks.
An update on the ex-colleague. Well, it seems she had pre-eclampsia and so had an emergency caesarian section. The baby was passed out ot theatre to her dad, but the mum needed further surgery. Four hours later, all attempts to save her had failed. She never knew she had a daughter.
An extra problem is that the couple had been trying for a baby for years. They had planned to marry, but there were family problems, so they delayed for a while. The problem now is that there is likely to be a wrangle as to who lays claim to the baby, although I guess DNA will help with that.
So, more prayers for the baby and her dad - they will certainly need them.
Kathyx
Oh Kath how hard for the Dad - losing someone you love so tragically and then having to fight for your baby. I will pray her family will look past their pain and loss and keep in mind the needs of the baby. This little girl will need both her Dad and her mother's family. Hopefully they can all work together to give her a wonderful childhood filled with pictures and words that will let her know how much she was loved and wanted by her mother.
They are all still in my prayers.
Aww Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about the Mom and baby. :(
I too will say a prayer for the little one and her Dad. I hope all goes well for her and her family. She deserves all the love and care they can give her.
Hugs, Pooh
This is so sad. I will say prayers for all.
I just wanted to update everyone on how great the prayers are working. After three weeks the young lady finally began to wake up yesterday and is showing signs of understanding questions asked. The doctors are limiting information to her until she is much more alert and she can be evaluated. She may be moved to Texas in the future to a top notch re-hab center for long term rehabilitation. She has a lot of hard work ahead. The young man has gone home but is having speech problems and will need therapy.
Again a huge thank you for all the concern and prayers. Slowly the two are healing.
So glad to hear the couple is healing. No doubt their road back will be long but they have their youth to help them along.
I hope their progress continues.
Hugs, Pooh

I'm so relieved to hear about these young people. It will be a long haul, but please God, they will get there in the end.

Hiya
I heard today that the mum died because she had some of the amniotic fluid enter her blood stream. Apparently, it's very rare. Have any of you heard of this happening before? I don't know how her partner and the baby are, but I will let you know if I find out.
Kathyx
Kathy this is called an amniotic embolus and is extremely rare; and unfortunately sudden, unpredictable and with very rare exceptions, untreatable.
My thoughts and prayers are still with the young family.
