Post by: Shari on April 02, 2008, 04:12:12 PM

Hi Shari,

That makes two of us then!  I'd forget where I live if I didn't have my checkbook with me sometimes...

Shari, Patze and all,

Yes, in 1998 SSF was successful in having April declared National Sjogren's Syndrome Awareness Month.  So we can all celebrate. :D

Happy Sjs Awareness Month everyone.

Hugs, Pooh

Thanks for reminding me too! I'm another one who forgot...aren't we a great bunch? We weren't "aware" enough to remember Sjogrens Awareness Month!  ;)

Now if more people would try and learn about this illness it would really make things easier for all of us. I don't mean to sound cynical, but sometimes that's just how I feel.

Thanks for that info. I'll make sure everyone knows about Sjogren's being national awareness month, one way or another!!

hugs
Barrie

Does Sjogren's have a ribbon color? Like pink for breast cancer...blue for child abuse?

I had never heard about this either, butthis past week my friend came for coffee and told me her and hubby were watching tv and there was a spokesperson on talking about some illness (she was just half listening) and as this person spoke my friend started to tune in as it was sounding awfully familiar and sure enough it was about sjogrern's and that it was sjogren's month. She couldn't recall the program or date. She was frustrated at the report as the spokes person although making it very clear how complex and how detrimental it can be was also making light of the ease of diagnosis and treatment. My friend knows how long I was sick before they would even do the biopsy here and since often I am put off or hurry up and wait for appointments.
Sorry I missed it, apparently they were speaking of a hollywood star that has sjs.
Anybody see it? Sandra

Hi Susiekline,

I think the color for SJS is periwinkle, ran across that in an article some place or another.  Anyone else come across it by chance?

Patze....you are exactly right! The color for Sjogrens is periwinkle! I have also seen it listed on some sites with an alternative color as purple......the same color as fibromyalgia!
