Title: splinter hemorrhages
Post by: Scottietottie on July 19, 2023, 07:43:11 AM
Hi  :)

Does anyone else get these under their nails? I don't get them often - and mine are pretty tiny but they seem to come before a flare.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Scottie.
I remember seeing this under my nails once or twice long ago, but otherwise very rarely.
I didn't even know there was a name for it until now. Our bodies do so many strange things.

I had several for many years but haven't them in over five years. My doctor was unimpressed so I don't know it's cause.

I wonder what I'm doing right these days!

Sorry I have no answers.

Are you talking about the skinny black lines that appear under your nails?  I've had them many times before, but it's been a number of years I think since.  I know there are many false claims about what they really are.

Hi  :)

I don't have many and they are pretty small. The first time I got them my GP ordered a bloodtest the same day and when it came back sent me straight to a rheumatologist because some number came back that he didn't like at all. The rheumy was pretty dismissive. I believe they can be linked to lupus. they do seem to be linked up to a flare and increase of aches and pains.

Take care - Scottie  :)
