Just wondering if anyone here lives in an area where the latest covid variant has started up. I have read a few things about it and it sounds like it is extremely contagious. Our covid numbers have been down around here and since we got rid of the cases we had in our facility it has been good. Whenever our senior facility quits the masks and sits 4 to a table at meals the covid cases start. After Thanksgiving we had a run of cases and had 12 cases over a couple of weeks in 10 day quarantine.
Minnesota state laws for our facility call for masks when we get cases plus cutting down on activities and sitting 2 to a table (across not next to each other) and this seems to decrease the spread. Wh en we don't have covid cases masks are optional. I think I am one of the few people that wears a mask. Most of the staff wear masks but seems like the other residents like to live on the edge. Just curious cause California was getting interested in even maybe doing some lock downs. With all the rain and flooding now I think they have their minds on other things. Take care. meirish
Yes, I live in Massachusetts and it's an area with the latest Covid variant and am suffering from it right now 🥲. My husband and I have managed to not get Covid these past three years but this one got us and got us bad. We've even been wearing masks and it got us! Not fun at all!
I am sorry to hear that. I had read that this variant could be caught by anyone who had covid previously. Sounds like it will hit most of us. I am about the only resident that wears their mask in my senior independent living plus when I go to Walmart. I am hoping that I don't get this one yet as I have some important doctors appointments lined up for the next month. One can only hope.
