Title: Back after 5 years
Post by: sunflower on December 30, 2021, 09:15:08 PM
Hello friends,

I'm thankful to see this forum is still going, although I suppose we wish we didn't need to be here.

As in my subject, I was doing reasonably well for about 5 years.  One xylimelt was sufficient at night, arthritis fairly stable, growing peripheral neuropathy.  One development was Meniere's Disease 3 years ago and I am wondering whether anyone else has it.  It is not serious although I have had to get hearing aids and my balance has deteriorated.  At age 77, I think I am too tippy!

I have three questions.

In the past 6 months (actually since getting my second Pfizer), I have noticed a downturn.  No longer is one xylimelt sufficient, my arthritis has ramped up as has the fatigue, and my eyes are so dry I can't keep up with drops even though I have punctal plugs and use Systane one-use drops.  Is there anything better on the market?

I am so disappointed.  I developed atrial fibrillation three years ago and that has been debilitating for me since I get so short of breath.  I had an ablation and was fine until I got the vaccines.  Now I am back to square one - even worse.  Does anyone else have reactions to the vaccines?

My final question:  I am curious as to whether those on plaquenil believe that has helped them avoid the virus or recover.  There has been a lot of controversy, but I have heard that it is effective.  These days there is strange mix of politics and medicine.

Best wishes to you all.  I am relieved to have the many ups and downs of the past year behind us and I believe we have a lot of reason for hope in 2022!

I am so sorry to hear this.  Unfortunately, I have heard many who have had similar reactions to the vaccines.

I hope you get some answers and feel better.
