Title: osteitis pubis
Post by: trc1962 on July 29, 2021, 11:51:05 AM
Hi, I have had some pelvic discomfort (not pain) and so my rheumatologisr suggested an x-ray which showed the inflammation of the joint. I am active as a p.e. teacher but don't play contact sports at all and that what it is usually caused by. I am wondering if sjpgrens could inflame the joint? I also showed some loss of bone which was super dissapointing as I have been gaining it and was out of osteopenia. I had some weight loss after a kidney infection that was hard to gain back. I think I will see a specialist for this and PT for the osteitis pubis.

I am no expert by any means, but I would guess that Sjogrens is the culprit. It just loves to leave inflammation where ever it can. But, with that being said, it could be that there is something else going on that is causing the inflammation that isn't related to the autoimmune issues.  I hope that you can get this under control. I would think that you have to be affected with this pain when you work in PE.

Good luck and hope it improves. When it comes to the osteoporosis I know nothing at all and just hope and pray I don't fall and break a hip. Take care and heal quickly. meirish

I haven't heard from my rheumatologist so I scheduled PT. I saw my primary and he said the Osteitis pubis was most likely autoimmune in nature and my rheumatologist should have a treatment plan. PT will help me, but I might need help with anti inflammatory drug. Thanks!
