I often get painful, hard lumps inside my upper lip. Not "sores". These are almost pea-size, hard knots inside my upper lip that feel lumpy when I rub my tongue against them. When you roll back my upper lip, the lumps look a little like varicose veins under the skin. You cannot see or feel them on the outside but it hurts when I kiss my husband or bump my lip. When they flare and get hard, they ache and throb. Cold things like popcycles or ice help a little.
Does anyone else get this? What could it be?
I know that some people suspected of sjogrens are diagnosed by a lip biopsy. Are these lumps what the doctors are looking for? I know there's nothing to do about it, but a little insight is always helpful.
Thanks!
