Title: fibro pain or?
Post by: trc1962 on October 14, 2019, 06:58:14 PM
Hi, been dealing with soft tissue pain in the last 9 months and trying to figure out what it is. I started getting a tight thigh last spring while hiking and eventually it moved up into my right hip area and lower back. I have it in my fingers and toes when I am tired and especially between my shoulder blades, lower back and the entire pelvic girdle. It gets worse with activity and affects my tendons. I did some yard work yesterday (minor) and it hurts to sit down on the couch, a tender bruised feeling. No warmth or swelling in the joints at all. I am wondering if any of you deal with this type of pain and is it fibro?I have neuropathy, dry eyes, dry mouth and nose and lately upper stomach discomfort, but this pain in my muscles and tissues is only a few months old.Meds: myfortic, naltrexone and different vitamins.
Thans.

I have pains almost everywhere you do. Sometimes inner thigh, sometimes outer. Shoulder blades is recent, within the last month, and sometimes extremely painful. Low back as well. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well as Sjogrens, so not sure if it?s due to those or something else. I also have Tendonitis often in various places. No fun!

I have pains in hips, lower back and shoulders and am told it is polymyalgia rheumatica, otherwise known as PMR.  Something else to consider.

My Immunologist diagnosed Polymyalgia Rheumatica.

I have horrible pain in my neck, across my shoulders, down my upper arms, even my lower arms.  Worst in the morning (almost impossible pain, actually, in the mornings).

My Immunologist made a referral to a Rheumatologist because she doesn't want to oversee the treatment for PR, which takes a year to get under control (most times) and may return later.

I don't see my new Rheumatologist until January 21, 2020 and this waiting time is very hard.

The good news is that it isn't 'dangerous' at this point and the only 'possible' danger is the development of Giant Cell Arteritis, but that doesn't always happen.  And if treated, PR can 'go away' and GCA avoided.

I usually feel a bit better as the morning progresses, but the muscle, soft tissue pain is always there.  I don't have it in my hips, pelvic girdle, just in upper body.
