This is the third time I've had a trigger finger issue, left-hand ring finger. I'm waiting on having sonograms done on my hands before contacting a specialist (sonograms will be done in about two weeks).
If it's as bad as I suspect based on the pain and lack of mobility I'l going to be recommended for surgery (I've already had this finger drained and shot up twice, the orthopedist said next time he'd refer me to the hand surgeon).
Has anyone had any alternative types of treatments for trigger fingers? I'm not excited about the potential of having a third hand surgery in three years.
Trigger thumb! Surgery done on left hand and carpal tunnel surgery done at the same time. No pain, no OT, just all fine.
Good luck!
Elaine
Sounds like you need surgery for this finger. All the stuff going on with your finger has probably scarred it a lot and this decreases the ability to bend. Irish
Thanks folks. I suspect surgery will be in order, not looking forward to it but can't keep endlessly having this thing shot up.
I do want to ask if they can drain the cyst that I am sure is there and test the fluid. I've read that they can check it to see if the fluid shows that the issue is caused by inflammation from something like RA v. OA.
